We understand that you're seeking prayer for a visit to your parents, and we want to lift this situation up to God with you. Firstly, it's important to remember the commandment to "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you" (Exodus 20:12 WEB). This commandment comes with a promise, and it's the first one with a promise attached.
However, we want to address something before we pray. You used the term and symbols ### and visit. In the Bible, we are told to honor our parents. It is only by the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to God and salvation. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13 KJV). We are to have no other gods before the one true God, Jesus Christ. We need to be sure we are honoring Jesus and God in all communications. There is a bit of a lack of clarity in what was written.
Let's pray for God's will to be done in this situation and if it is God's will, that you have a pleasant visit:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our beloved friend who is preparing to visit their parents. We pray that this visit will be pleasing to You, Lord, and that it will bring honor and glory to Your name.
We ask, God, that You would soften the hearts of this person's parents. We pray that You would give them a spirit of kindness and understanding, and that any past hurts or disagreements would be healed and forgiven. We pray for peace, for joy and harmony during the visit.
But we pray that you will convict the parents and the one visiting that you come first as the one and only true God.
We also pray for the one who is visiting, that they would be a shining light for You, Lord. We pray that they would demonstrate the fruits of the Spirit, which are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control" (Galatians 5:22-23 WEB). We pray that their actions and words would bring glory to Your name and that they will prioritize and honor Jesus in all they do and say.
Lord, we ask that Your will be done in this situation. We pray that this visit would ultimately draw all parties closer to You, to Jesus Christ. Help each of them to prioritize Jesus and their relationship with God.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
If there are any unresolved issues or tensions between you and your parents, we encourage you to do what you can to resolve them, and to show them the love and grace that God shows us. Remember the words of Jesus: "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another" (John 13:34 WEB).
We also encourage you to prioritize Jesus Christ in your life and to pray in Jesus' name. Jesus gave us this commandment: "Most certainly I tell you, whatever you may ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full" (John 16:23-24 WEB).
