I know this is strange but I need my new dog to become more independent. She is attached at the hip to me. I feel like I can’t leave the house. I can’t do anything without her or because of her and I’m becoming very depressed. I am praying for a miracle when it comes to her. Just stop being destructive and needy. Please father I need to live a life outside this house and not feel guilty or be afraid of the damage.

I had the same problem with my dog, she would be destructive when home alone, all over me when I'd come home, and unable to be alone.

I resolved it by taking her for a 7km bike ride every day when coming home from studies. She would be happy to go for the run, and all the built up energy would be spent. Expecting a long run, she would also greet me much more calmly every day after about a week.

Your dog may simply just need stimulation, and maybe a companion animal.
