We are truly sorry to hear about the pain you are experiencing after the breakup. We will pray for you and your situation, but first, we want to ensure that our prayers are aligned with God's will and biblical principles.
Firstly, we notice that Jesus' name is not mentioned in the prayer. It is only in the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Furthermore, salvation is found in no one else. Jesus himself said "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me".
It's important to understand that God's desire is for you to live in peace and holiness. In times of distress, He wants you to turn to Him for comfort and guidance.
For people who were in courtship looking for a godly spouse, it is important to have a goal of marrying a Christian in mind and not a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship outside of the guidelines of God's Word. Please remember 2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB "Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" If the other person is a Christian it is important to ask whether or not you both are in a courtship with a goal of marriage. Whether or not you both are Christians it is also important to ask whether fornication or adultery is occurring or has occurred. If it is or has then you must not continue in that sin. You must end the physical relationship and repent of that sin. God forgives all of those who repent and believe in Jesus Christ.
Psalm 147:3 WEB tells us that God "heals the brokenhearted, and binds up their wounds."
It is wonderful that you believe that God can fix this relationship, but we must also be willing to accept God's will, whatever it may be. Sometimes, God may choose to reconcile a relationship, but other times, He may have a different path for us. It is important to pray for God's will and a renewed relationship with Jesus Christ. Our desire is for you find peace and fulfillment in Him, whether or not this relationship is restored.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our sister/brother who is experiencing heartache and pain after a breakup. We pray that You will comfort her/him and give her/him Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Lord, we ask for Your will to be done in this situation. If it is Your desire to reconcile this relationship, we pray for healing, forgiveness, and restoration. However we pray that only if it is Your desire to do so. If it is not, we pray that You will give our sister/brother the strength to move forward and find fulfillment in You alone.
We also pray that both individuals in the relationship would have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We pray that they repent of any sexual sin that has occurred in this relationship and forgive each other for any wrongdoing.
Help her/him to trust in You and to seek You first. Guide her/him by Your Holy Spirit and lead her/him according to Your purpose. We believe that You can turn this situation around for good and use it to draw our sister/brother closer to You.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Please take some time to reflect on your relationship with Jesus Christ and the other person in the relationship. Ask yourself if you have both been seeking God's will and His righteousness as you were together. Remember, God wants what is best for you, and His ways are higher than our ways. Trust in Him, and He will guide you.
