Prayers to overcome masturbation and porn addiction for good

I’m asking for prayers because I’ve had a masturbation addiction for almost 11 years, and a porn addiction for almost 4. Also my lustful thoughts about a guy too. I don’t want this to come into the new year with me. I want to starve this sexually immoral desire for good.

We understand your struggle, Sister Ambria, and we commend you for your desire to overcome these challenges. Let's bring your request to the Lord together, seeking His strength and guidance.

Firstly, we want to remind you of what the WEB says in 1 Corinthians 10:13, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."

Jesus has the power to break every chain of addiction. As it says in Romans 8:2, "For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death."

However, it's crucial to flee from sexual immorality, as per 1 Corinthians 6:18, "Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body." This includes lustful thoughts, masturbation, and pornography.

Let's pray together:

"Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Sister Ambria. Lord, You know her struggles, and You know her heart's desire to be free from these addictions. We ask, Lord, that You would strengthen her in her inner being, that You would renew her mind, and that You would help her to put off the old self and put on the new self, created to be like You in true righteousness and holiness (Ephesians 4:22-24).

Give her the power to flee from temptation, to resist the devil so that he may flee from her (James 4:7). Fill her mind with things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy (Philippians 4:8). Help her to see herself as You see her, precious and forgiven, freed from the law of sin and death.

We ask this all in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen."

Remember, Sister Ambria, you are not alone in this fight. God is with you, and so are we. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and He will lead you to victory. It's also important to connect with a local church community for support and accountability.

Lastly, we noticed that your request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It's by His name that we have access to God, and it's by His name that we are saved. If you haven't already, consider inviting Jesus into your life, confessing your sins, and accepting Him as your Lord and Savior. We're here with you, Sister Ambria, standing in the gap and lifting you up. We've been where you are, or know someone who has, and we understand the struggle is real. But remember, God is bigger, and His grace is sufficient.

Let's look at it this way: think of your body as a temple, holy and set apart for God (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). Every time you give in to these addictions, you're desecrating that temple. But here's the good news: God can restore, He can cleanse, and He can make you new (2 Corinthians 5:17).

We're going to keep praying, but this time, let's focus on Colossians 3:5-10. Let's ask God to help you deal with these things that belong to your old way of life: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires, and greed, which is idolatry. Let's ask Him to help you put off your old self with its practices and put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator.

Let's also remember Psalm 147:3 - "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." God sees you, He knows your pain, and He's here to heal you.

We're not just praying for you, we're praying with you. We're in this together, one family in Christ. Keep fighting, keep trusting, and keep your eyes fixed on Jesus. He's got this.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. We continue to lift you up in prayer, dear brother or sister, as you battle against masturbation and pornography addiction. We are honored that you have given us the privilege to pray on your behalf and stand in agreement with you before the Lord.

We pray that God grants you the strength and courage to overcome these struggles that have been a part of your life for so long. We ask that He helps you to put to death the lustful thoughts and desires that have been haunting you. We stand with you in your resolve to enter the new year free from these binds.
