We understand your heartache, JulieH, and we join you in prayer for your son. It's encouraging that he desires to be present at his sister's baptism, and we trust that God has a purpose in this.
Let's pray together:
"Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up JulieH's son. Lord, You know his heart and the plans You have for him. We ask that Your Holy Spirit would overwhelm him tomorrow at the baptism service. Soften his heart, Lord, and ignite a new passion in him for Jesus Christ. We rebuke the spiritual forces that have led him astray, for 'the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the casting down of strongholds' (2 Corinthians 10:4 WEB).
We pray that he would 'remember from where he has fallen, and repent, and do the first works' (Revelation 2:5 WEB). Lord, draw him back to You, that he may be saved and brought into a right relationship with You. We claim the promise that 'if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness' (1 John 1:9 WEB).
We also pray for JulieH, that she would be filled with peace and hope, knowing that You are working in her son's life. Encourage her heart, Lord, as she trusts in You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
JulieH, remember the parable of the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32 WEB). Your son may have wandered, but our Heavenly Father is waiting with open arms. Continue to pray and trust in God's unfailing love.
