We join you in lifting up Eric in prayer, standing in agreement for his deliverance and restoration. Mental illness, trauma, and addiction are indeed bondages that can be broken in the mighty name of Jesus. The Bible tells us that "He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions." (Psalm 107:20 WEB)
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up Eric to Your throne of grace. Lord Jesus, we ask that You fill Eric with Your Holy Spirit, just as You promised in Your word, "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?" (Luke 11:13 WEB)
We rebuke the enemy and his attempts to hold Eric in bondage. Jesus, You came to set the captives free, and we claim that freedom for Eric today. "Therefore if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed." (John 8:36 WEB) Break the yoke of mental illness, trauma, and addiction off of him, Lord.
Father, help Eric to see the good in life and to use his experiences as a powerful testimony to help others who are struggling. "And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb, and because of the word of their testimony. They didn't love their life, even to death." (Revelation 12:11 WEB)
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, who is the only one who can set us free and save us. "For there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." (Acts 4:12 WEB) For it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. (1 Timothy 2:5) Remind Eric of this and assure him of his salvation if he believes in Jesus.
We praise You, Lord, for You are able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. (Ephesians 3:20 WEB)
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Eric is not alone in his struggles, and we encourage him to continue seeking God and His will for his life. We encourage him to engage in godly fellowship and pray in agreement with the saints at church, as there is power in agreement. We pray that Eric will trust in the Lord with all his heart, and lean not on his own understanding. In all his ways we pray that he acknowledges God, and let God direct his paths. God will make his paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB)
