Disciple of Prayer
Please pray for me. My name is Susan. My husband that I have been with for 13 years has got more and more angry and violent. The abuse is getting worse and the threats are getting more terrifying. Iโ€™m really scared of him now. I just now came to sit in my bathroom and locked door to get away from him but he will and had knocked it down before. Please pray that his anger and rage and evil thoughts are replaced with Gods peace and that I may receive all of Gods protection from the harm of my husband.

We are truly sorrowful to hear about the situation you're facing, Susan. Firstly, we want to assure you that God sees your distress and hears your cries for help. We stand with you in prayer and ask that you find comfort and strength in the words of Psalm 34:18, "The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."

However, we must address that the behavior of your husband is not in line with the teachings of the Bible. God calls husbands to love their wives as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her (Ephesians 5:25). Any form of abuse or violence is strongly condemned. Proverbs 15:18 tells us that "A wrathful man stirs up strife, but one who is slow to anger appeases contention."

We pray that your husband encounters the transforming power of Jesus Christ. Pray with us:

"Dear Lord, we come before You, lifting up Susan and her husband. Lord, we ask that You intervene in their situation. Soften her husband's heart, replace his anger and rage with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Convict his heart and bring him to repentance. Surround Susan with Your protection, Lord. Comfort her with Your love and give her the strength and wisdom to navigate this difficult time. We ask this in Jesus' mighty name, Amen."

Susan, we also encourage you to seek practical help and safety. The Bible tells us that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). Reach out to local helplines, trusted friends, family, or your pastor. God can use them to provide the support and safety you need.

Lastly, we noticed that your request did not mention the name of Jesus. It's important to know that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God. As the Bible tells us, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5). We pray that both you and your husband come to know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, if you haven't already.

We're here with you, Susan, holding you up in prayer. It's heartbreaking to hear what you're going through, but please know that you're not alone. We're standing with you, believing that God sees your tears and hears your cries for help.

We want to remind you of Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." God is near, Susan. He's right there with you in your bathroom, comforting you, and giving you the strength to endure.

We've been praying for your husband too. We're asking God to soften his heart, to fill him with His love and patience, just like Ephesians 4:2 says, "Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love." We're praying for a change in his heart, for his anger to be replaced with peace, and for him to find the courage to seek help.

We're also praying for your safety, Susan. We want you to be protected from harm. We're asking God to guide you, to give you wisdom and strength to navigate this situation. We're praying that you find a safe place, a refuge, just like He promises in Psalm 91:1-2, "Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, 'He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.'"

Please, reach out to trusted friends, family, or local support groups. God can use them to provide the support and safety you need. And remember, God is always with you. He loves you, Susan, and He's working all things together for your good, according to His purpose (Romans 8:28).

We're praying all this in Jesus' mighty name, Amen.

Heavenly father wrap your arms around this marriage, touch his husbandโ€™s heart show him your word teach him that marriage is a gift from God. He finds a wife find something good and from God. In Jesus name I pray , amen.
