Sister Ambria, we commend you for your desire to put the Lord first during this season of change in your life. It's encouraging to see your dedication to seeking God's will and growing spiritually. Let us come together in prayer and counsel, based on the principles of God's Word.
Firstly, it is wonderful that you and Andrew have sought the Lord regarding your relationship and received guidance. The Bible tells us, "Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6, WEB). It is wise to take time apart to focus on your individual relationships with the Lord and grow in faith. We pray that this time will indeed strengthen both of you and prepare you for the future that God has in store.
We also want to address the importance of mentioning the name of Jesus Christ in our prayers and requests. As it is written, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" (Acts 4:12, WEB). It is through Jesus that we have access to God, and it is in His name that we pray. If you haven't already, we encourage you to place your faith in Jesus as your Savior and Lord.
Regarding your conviction to cut your dreadlocks, we trust that you are following the leading of the Holy Spirit. The Bible tells us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19, WEB), and it is important to honor God in how we present ourselves. We pray that as you learn more about your hair and the gift God has given you, you will be a testimony of His grace and goodness.
As you prepare to move into your university dorm, we pray for a smooth transition and that God will surround you with a community of believers who will encourage and support you in your faith. Remember, "Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God" (Romans 12:2, WEB).
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up Sister Ambria and Andrew. Lord, we ask that this time apart will be a season of spiritual growth and renewal for both of them. Strengthen their faith and prepare them for the future You have planned. Guide Sister Ambria as she moves into her university dorm, and surround her with godly friends and influences. Help her to honor You in all she does, including her decision about her hair. Give her wisdom and discernment as she seeks Your will.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Continue to seek the Lord, Sister Ambria, and trust in His unfailing love and guidance. May this season of change draw you closer to Him and prepare you for the wonderful plans He has for your life.
