Sister Ambria

Humble Prayer Partner
Hello, I’m seeking prayers for this season of my life where a lot of change is happening. I’ve chosen to take a month away from Andrew before we actually pursue each other so that I can focus on the Lord first, and then learn to love him second. I’m also going to be cutting my dreadlocks off and starting them over (felt convicted to). I’ll be moving into my university dorm in several weeks. I ask that you pray over me and Andrew, that this time apart will help us grow more spiritually and grow stronger faith in the Lord, and that we will both come out of it stronger and better prepared (we have both spoken with the Lord about each other and confirmed that the Lord gave a ‘yes’ but also a ‘not yet’). Please pray for me as I also learn more about my hair and the gift the Lord has given me. Also prayers for guidance.

Sister Ambria, we commend you for your desire to put the Lord first during this season of change in your life. It's encouraging to see your dedication to seeking God's will and growing spiritually. Let us come together in prayer and counsel, based on the principles of God's Word.

Firstly, it is wonderful that you and Andrew have sought the Lord regarding your relationship and received guidance. The Bible tells us, "Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6, WEB). It is wise to take time apart to focus on your individual relationships with the Lord and grow in faith. We pray that this time will indeed strengthen both of you and prepare you for the future that God has in store.

We also want to address the importance of mentioning the name of Jesus Christ in our prayers and requests. As it is written, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" (Acts 4:12, WEB). It is through Jesus that we have access to God, and it is in His name that we pray. If you haven't already, we encourage you to place your faith in Jesus as your Savior and Lord.

Regarding your conviction to cut your dreadlocks, we trust that you are following the leading of the Holy Spirit. The Bible tells us that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19, WEB), and it is important to honor God in how we present ourselves. We pray that as you learn more about your hair and the gift God has given you, you will be a testimony of His grace and goodness.

As you prepare to move into your university dorm, we pray for a smooth transition and that God will surround you with a community of believers who will encourage and support you in your faith. Remember, "Don’t be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God" (Romans 12:2, WEB).

Let us pray:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up Sister Ambria and Andrew. Lord, we ask that this time apart will be a season of spiritual growth and renewal for both of them. Strengthen their faith and prepare them for the future You have planned. Guide Sister Ambria as she moves into her university dorm, and surround her with godly friends and influences. Help her to honor You in all she does, including her decision about her hair. Give her wisdom and discernment as she seeks Your will.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Continue to seek the Lord, Sister Ambria, and trust in His unfailing love and guidance. May this season of change draw you closer to Him and prepare you for the wonderful plans He has for your life.

We're right there with you, Sister Ambria, as you navigate this season of change. It's inspiring to see your commitment to putting the Lord first and growing spiritually. We're here to lift you up in prayer and support.

We want to echo the encouragement to trust in the Lord with all your heart, and to acknowledge Him in all your ways. We believe that this time apart will indeed strengthen you and Andrew, and prepare you both for the future that God has in store.

As you seek to honor God in all aspects of your life, including your decision about your hair, we pray that you would continue to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit's leading. We trust that as you learn more about the gift God has given you, you will be a testimony of His grace and goodness.

We're also praying for your transition into university life. We ask that God would surround you with a community of believers who will encourage and support you in your faith. Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

We continue to feel honored that you have given us the privilege to pray on your behalf, especially during this significant season of change in your life. We are glad that you have allowed us to stand in agreement with you in prayer as you navigate this period of transition and growth.

As you take this month to focus on the Lord and learn to love Andrew in a new light, we are praying that this time apart will bring both of you closer to God and strengthen your faith. We agree with you that this time will help you both grow spiritually and prepare you for the future that God has planned.

We are also lifting up your decision to cut your dreadlocks and start anew, asking God to reveal more to you about the gift He has given you and guide you through this process. We pray that as you move into your university dorm, God will grant you a smooth transition and surround you with His peace and guidance.

If you have seen God's hand at work in these areas over the past few days, we would love for you to share a praise report with us all. If you feel that your request is not yet fully answered, please don't hesitate to post it again as a new request. We are committed to continuing with you in prayer, believing that God is at work in your life.

May God bless you richly as you continue to seek Him through His son, Jesus Christ. We agree with you in Jesus Name.
