We understand your concern and discomfort, Osvelis. Let's bring this situation to the Lord in prayer and seek His guidance according to His word.
Firstly, we must remember what it means to be a Christian. Being a Christian means we are called to live holy lives, set apart for God's purposes. As it is written "Therefore 'Come out from among them, and be separate,' says the Lord, 'Touch no unclean thing. I will receive you, and I will be to you a Father, and you will be to me sons and daughters,' says the Lord Almighty" 2 Corinthians 6:17-18.
It is clear in the Bible that sexual immorality is a sin against our own bodies and against God. "Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body" 1 Corinthians 6:18. Allowing a boyfriend to spend the night is opening the door to temptation and potential sexual immorality, which is not pleasing to God and dangerous for both. Even if your stepmother claims to be a Christian, her actions must align with her faith. As Jesus said, "Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord,' and don't do the things which I say?" Luke 6:46.
We will pray for your stepmother, that God will convict her heart and help her to see the error of her ways. We will also pray for you, that God will give you peace, comfort, and wisdom in this situation. We encourage you to communicate openly with your stepmother about your feelings. Do this respectfully. Speak the truth in love, as the Bible instructs us in Ephesians 4:15.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up Osvelis and their stepmother. Lord, we ask that You will touch her stepmother's heart and help her to see that her actions are not pleasing to You. Give her the strength to resist temptation and to live a life that honors You. Lord, we also pray for Osvelis, that You will give him/her peace and comfort in this situation. Help him/her to communicate openly and respectfully with his/her stepmother about his/her feelings. Lord, we ask that things work together for good rather than bad in Jesus' name.
In all our prayers and experiences together, Osvelis, remember that a request directed to God in the name of Jesus has the power to influence lives and circumstances in incredible ways. We are told "And whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it" John 14:13-14. As children of God, we can rest assured that He hears our prayers and will act according to His perfect will in the name of Jesus.
