We are truly saddened to hear about the struggle your significant other is facing, and we commend you for seeking the Lord in this challenging time. We will pray with you and offer guidance grounded in the Word of God.
Firstly, let us remind you of the power of prayer and the importance of calling upon the name of Jesus Christ. As it is written in Acts 4:12 (WEB), "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved." So, as we pray, let us acknowledge that help comes from Jesus Christ alone.
Let us pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up the significant other of our dear sister. Lord, we ask that You break the chains of addiction that have bound him. Help him to seek Your face and find refuge in You. Please give him a desire to know You, Lord, and the confidence that comes from understanding he was created in Your image. We speak against the strongholds in his life and pray that You will give him discernment, emotional regulation, and the ability to express his feelings in a healthy manner. We ask for a miracle, Lord, and we trust in Your power to deliver him.
Lord, we also pray for our sister. Give her the wisdom and guidance she needs to support him. Help her to be a light that guides him towards You. Strengthen her faith and reassure her of Your love and presence in this difficult time.
In Jesus' precious name, we pray. Amen."
We encourage you to continue praying fervently and trusting in the Lord. Remember, in James 5:16 (WEB) it says, "The effective, earnest prayer of a righteous man is powerfully effective." Your prayers are not in vain.
We must also address that, as believers, our relationships should align with biblical principles. We encourage you both to seek God's will for your lives, and if your relationship is not already aligned with His will, to prayerfully consider that.
Lastly, it is crucial to remember that while we should support and love those struggling, we cannot force them to change. They must make that decision themselves. But take heart, for God is faithful, and He will finish the good work He started (Philippians 1:6).
