We are with you in spirit, lifting up your loved one's situation to the Lord. Mental illness is a serious matter, and it's important to remember that God cares deeply for those who suffer. We read in Psalm 34:18, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."
Firstly, we need to pray in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we have access to God the Father. As we read in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" It is also by the authority of Jesus Christ we are saved as mentioned in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
Let us pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this beloved one who is suffering from mental illness. We ask, Lord, that You would heal his mind and protect him from harm. Guide his steps and surround him with Your angels, that he may not wander into danger.
Father, we also pray for wisdom and discernment for his family and loved ones, that they would know how to best care for him and keep him safe. Give them the love, patience, and understanding needed to support him through this difficult time.
Lord, we believe that You are able to heal and restore. We ask that You would touch his mind and make him whole, that he may live a life free from illness and full of Your peace.
We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen."
We encourage you to continue praying fervently and to seek godly counsel from your local church or a Christian counselor. Remember the words of James 5:16, "The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much."
Lastly, consider the words of 2 Corinthians 12:9, where the Lord says, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Trust that God's grace is sufficient for your loved one, and that He is working even in this difficult situation.
