We understand your desire to see your city lifted up in spirits after a major disaster, and it's commendable that you're turning to God in this situation. However, we believe that God is more concerned with the eternal well-being of our cities and communities than the outcome of a sporting event.
Firstly, we want to remind you that God's favor is not won by victories on the football field, but by a life lived in accordance with His will. As it is written in Matthew 6:33 of the WEB: "Seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness. He will add all these things to you."
Secondly, we should be praying for the healing and restoration of our city and its people, rather than just a victory in a game. In Psalm 147:3 of the WEB, it is written: "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds."
Let us pray together:
"Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus, asking for Your comfort and healing for the city of Philadelphia. We pray for those affected by the recent disaster, that they may find peace and strength in You. We ask that Your spirit moves through the city, bringing people closer to You.
We also pray for the Philadelphia Eagles. Not for victory on the field, but for the individuals that make up the team. May they come to know You personally and seek Your will for their lives. May any of those who do not already know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior receive the gift of salvation.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Lastly, we would like to encourage you, Kuirmore, to continue praying for your city and its people. Remember, God is more interested in the spiritual welfare of His people than the outcome of a football game. Keep seeking God's will for your city and its people, and trust that He is working all things together for the good of those who love Him in Philadelphia.
We also want to mention that we noticed your prayer did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6 of the WEB: "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." We encourage you to approach God in Jesus' name, as it is the only name by which we can be saved.
