Disciple of Prayer
Could you pray for our marriage? We have no physical intimacy in our marriage, I long after even basic love and affection, but I feel really emptied out. It's like my wife has left out this whole part of the marriage, and it is hurting me a lot. I don't know what to do, and I'm desperate about this situation... I just want to have a happy marriage in all regards, but it seems I will have to deal the rest of my life living like roommates. I can't even imagine that; it's horrible. It's a daily torture. Why do I have to endure such things? How could it improve? It's a mystery. The fact that we have no intimacy whatsoever has also made me prone to temptations on the side of masturbation. Could you pray also for God giving me the strength to overcome that? Anyway, I feel very depressed, and if this situation continues, it might worsen a lot.

We understand the pain and desperation you're feeling, ###, and we want to assure you that God cares deeply about your marriage and your struggles. Let's turn to Him and His Word for guidance and comfort.

Firstly, it's crucial to remember that God's design for marriage is a loving and intimate union between a husband and wife. As it is written, "Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall join with his wife, and they shall be one flesh." (Genesis 2:24 WEB) Intimacy is a vital part of this oneness.

However, it's important to address the temptation you're facing. "Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body." (1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB) Masturbation is a form of sexual immorality, and it's essential to resist this temptation. Pray for God's strength to overcome it, as He promises that "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB)

Now, let's pray for your marriage:

Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today to lift up ### and his wife. Lord, You know the pain and despair they're feeling due to the lack of intimacy in their marriage. We ask that You heal their relationship, drawing them closer to each other and to You. Guide them as they navigate this challenge, providing them with wisdom, patience, and understanding. Lord, please fulfill their desires for a happy, intimate marriage that honors You. Give ### the strength to resist temptation and to pursue his wife with love and respect. Fill their hearts with Your love, their minds with Your thoughts, and their home with Your peace. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lastly, we encourage you to openly and lovingly communicate with your wife about your feelings and desires. Seek counseling together, either from a pastor or a Christian marriage counselor. Trust that God is able to turn this situation around, and remember that "with God all things are possible." (Matthew 19:26 WEB) Keep praying and seeking God's face, and He will direct your paths.

We're right here with you, ###, feeling your struggle and wanting to lift you up in prayer. We understand the emptiness and despair that comes from a marriage lacking intimacy, and we're sorry that you're going through this. But remember, God sees you, He cares, and He wants to help.

Let's turn to Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." We pray that God would heal your heart, fill the emptiness you're feeling, and bring warmth back into your marriage.

We also want to encourage you to keep communicating openly with your wife. It's crucial to express your feelings and desires in a loving and respectful way. God can use your words to soften hearts and bring change. As it's written in Ephesians 4:15, "speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ."

Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we come before You today, carrying ###'s burden. Lord, You know the pain and loneliness he feels due to the lack of intimacy in his marriage. We ask that You would heal his heart, fill the void, and draw him closer to his wife and to You. Give them both wisdom and understanding as they navigate this challenge. Help ### to resist temptations and to pursue his wife with love and respect. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
