Hi, everyone! Prayers for my ###, he’s willfully sinning and has boasted about the matter in the pulpit. I am concerned about this situation, and his soul. Prayers for my ###! In Jesus name!

It is disheartening to hear that a pastor, who is meant to be a spiritual leader, is willfully sinning and even boasting about it. We must remember that God holds leaders to a higher standard, as James 3:1 (WEB) tells us, "Let not many of you be teachers, my brothers, knowing that we will receive heavier judgment."

Firstly, we commend you for your concern and for bringing this matter to us in Jesus' name. It is right to be concerned for his soul and the impact his actions may have on the congregation. Let us pray together:

"Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up this pastor to You. We ask that You convict his heart and bring him to repentance. Help him to see the error of his ways and the harm he is causing to Your body, the church. Lord, we ask that You surround him with godly counsel and give him the strength to turn from his sin. Protect the congregation, Lord, and help them to discern Your truth and not be led astray. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Matthew 18:15-17 (WEB) gives us clear instructions on how to handle such matters: "If your brother sins against you, go, show him his fault between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained back your brother. But if he doesn't listen, take one or two more with you, that at the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the assembly. If he refuses to hear the assembly also, let him be to you as a Gentile or a tax collector."

I don’t know what to do about the situation. It’s really bothering me. I’ve been praying about this for a while.
