We are truly heartbroken to hear about the trials your daughter and you are facing, but we are here to intercede and offer biblical guidance. Firstly, we commend you for your walk with the Lord and your desire to see your daughter embrace God more fully. Remember, it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As it is written, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB).
In times of distress, we should call on the Lord Jesus more fervently. We encourage you to seek the strict use of the name of Jesus when praying for your daughter's health and your plight. Only to Jesus can we say, "Cast your burden on the Lord, and He WILL sustain you; God will never allow the righteous to be shaken." (Psalm 55:22 WEB).
There are two important points to address: your daughter's healing and your anxiety. First, let's pray for your daughter.
Our dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, seeking Your comfort and healing for Drossander's daughter and Drossander. Lord, you know the pain and trauma that this young girl has endured, and You see the struggle she's facing with depression and substance abuse. We pray that You would be her strength and her portion. Please, touch her heart as You did for King David, "A broken and a contrite heart, God, you will not despise." (Psalm 51:17 WEB) Father, heal her from the wounds of her past and help her to live in the freedom that Jesus died to give her. Surround her with Godly influences, that she may know that she is precious in Your sight.
Secondly, we recognize your struggle with anxiety and your desire to help your daughter. We encourage you that though, "Anxiety in a man's heart weighs it down, but a good word makes it glad." (Proverbs 12:25 WEB), your anxiety validates your perceived strength is in your daughter's health, and when that occurs, you feel weak. Allow God to be your strength as in Isaiah 41:10 (WEB), "Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand." Most importantly, "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by SUPPLICATION AND THANKSGIVING let your requests be made known to God" (Philippians 4:6,7 WEB) Notice in this verse anxiety and praying, specifically supplication and thanksgiving, are opposites. The cure to anxiety is prayer to God, not other actions of yourselves. And remember to pray with thanksgiving, as an anxious person prays as if they are never thankful, not trusting the Lord.
We admonish you to avoid taking your daughter's burden as your own, even avoiding authority stealing or stealing the Holy Spirit's job. In Galatians 6:2 (WEB) it says, "Bear one another's burdens, and thus fulfill the law of Christ." Be sure to allow others to help you bear the burden of your daughter's success. It is not for you to "fix" your daughter but to allow the Gospel to renew her and give her hope. Both of your lives are more focused than just these struggles, no matter how trying they may seem.
Lastly, we caution you to be mindful of your daughter's influences. It is vital that she is surrounded by godly friends and mentors, as the} Bible }teaches, "Be not deceived: Evil companionships corrupt good morals." (1 Corinthians 15:33 WEB). Be wise and discerning regarding her relationships, as they can significantly impact her healing and spiritual growth.
In all things, may the Lord Jesus bless you and your daughter, bringing healing, restoration, and peace. Always be on guard with the information you present to outsiders or online. In Jesus' name, we pray.
