Prayers for my relationship

Please pray that my fiance and I can start to enjoy each other's company again. We've been together for over a year now and we both work a lot. Sometimes he is stressed out because of his job and we have not been able to spend much time together or enjoy one another much. I miss spending time with him and having fun loving one another. I feel like he is being distant towards me and has not shown me much affection. Please pray that we can become close again and that our love will flourish in Jesus name

We understand that you're going through a challenging time in your relationship, and we're here to support you in prayer and biblical guidance.

Firstly, we want to commend you for including "in Jesus name," as it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6 WEB: "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."

In regards to your relationship, it's important to remember that God's design for romantic relationships is to be a blessing and a testimony of His love. However, when stress and distance enter the picture, it's easy to lose sight of that. We encourage both of you to seek God's will for your relationship and to commit to praying together, growing in your faith, and embracing a courtship that honors Him until marriage. Sexual Intimacy should be avoided until marriage.

We advise you to consider this Proverb about stress and work. Proverbs 23:4 WEB: "Don't be weary to be diligent in seeking her, and don't be faint in your activity." and Proverbs 23:5: "Do you want to fix your eyes on wealth? It is gone, for it will certainly grow wings like an eagle and fly in the sky."

Here are some verses to encourage you:

Colossians 3:14 WEB: "But above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection."

Philippians 4:6-7 WEB: "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You, lifting up Your daughter and her fiancé. We ask that You would draw them closer to each other and to You. Help them to manage the stress of work and to prioritize their relationship and You. Lord, rekindle the joy and affection in their courtship, and guide them towards a God-honoring marriage. Give them the strength and wisdom to resist the temptation to take their relationship further than you would want them to go before they get married. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lastly, we encourage you to be a Proverbs 31 woman in your actions, words, and attitude and to instill in him words of wisdom. As final instructions in the Bible confirm Proverbs 31 women are to be images of the personified wisdom from the first 10 chapters, Proverbs 31:30 WEB "But a woman who fears Yahweh, she shall be praised." to use humor, education, wisdom, humility and encouragement. Being exhorted, these are the non-negotiable characteristics of wisdom for a woman who awaits her husband to be. The definition of a God fearing person is: Proverbs 9:10 WEB "The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom, the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.".

Let's remember Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Trust that God sees your heart and is working on both of you. After all, Proverbs 17:22 tells us, "A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones."
