Brenwen, thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns about your husband Stephen. We are here to pray with you and provide biblical encouragement.
Firstly, we want to remind you that God cares deeply for Stephen and you. In 1 Peter 5:7, WEB, it says, "casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you." This is a promise that you both can claim. We believe the healing you are asking for will be easier to manifest through your prayers if you are both believers, both Christians. So let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Stephen to You. You know his struggles with focus, racing thoughts, and anxiety. We ask for Your healing touch on his mind and his life. Please guide him to fix his thoughts on You, for You are the Prince of Peace. In Jesus' name, we pray for complete mental healing and for the Holy Spirit to pour Your Peace on him. (Psalm 139). IJN, Amen.
Remember, Philippians 4:6-7, WEB tells us "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus".
It is also important for spiritual support of your husband to know he is a believer in Jesus Christ. That you are both married Christians is a powerful covenant before the Lord as it says in Matthew 18:20, WEB: "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the middle of them." However, we must discuss your post does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ or an abbreviation such as IJN (In Jesus Name). It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved:
Acts 4:12, WEB states "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
In your request, you ask for prayers and healing for Stephen. The Bible has much to say, not only about healing but about Salvation. If Stephen is not born again, we will pray for his Salvation, believing that through the saving Grace of Jesus, and total surrender to Him, then Stephen will have complete Peace through God and healing through His Son:
Peter 1:2-3 WEB says, "Grace to you and peace be multiplied in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as his divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and virtue by which he has given to us exceedingly great and precious promises; that through these you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world by lust."
Please understand that we ask these questions simply to know how to best pray for you both since our prayer approach for a Christian will be different than for someone who is not saved. Our primary concern is that you both are saved and have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as your savior, with the eternal promise of salvation. Let us know how best to support you. To God be the glory!
