We understand your concern, Anonymous, and we appreciate your heart to care for others. It is commendable that you are supporting a friend through their health struggles, but we also recognize the importance of balancing your own needs and well-being. Let us turn to the Scriptures for guidance and pray together.
Firstly, it is wonderful that you mentioned the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by his name that we have access to God the Father and it is in his name that we pray.
The Bible tells us to "Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." But in Galatians 6:5 It also reminds us that "For each man will bear his own burden."
It is important to remember that while we are called to love and support others, we must also take care of ourselves. This is not selfish but rather a necessary part of being a good steward of the body and life that God has given us.
Regarding your friend, it is commendable that you are supporting them, but remember what the scriptures say in Galatians 6:7 WEB "Don't be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also bring back to life again."
This is a reminder that we should not do good with an expectation of return, but rather because it is right and pleasing to God.
In Philippians 2:4, WEB it says "Don't only look after what is in you but each of you should look after what is in the others."
It is not unfair for you to also expect and require support from your friend as long as it is not unreasonable.
As for your personal goals, we commend you for seeking a new job and learning Arabic. God gives us the desires of our hearts when we delight ourselves in Him, trusting in His timing and provision.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and He will direct your path. We are encouraged by Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB
Trust in Yahweh with all your heart,
and don't lean on your own understanding.
In all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight.
Now, let us pray together.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister in need of balance and wisdom. Thank You for their caring heart and their desire to support others. We pray that You would grant them the wisdom to discern when to give and when to rest, when to support others and when to care for themselves.
We pray for their friend, that You would bring healing and comfort. We also ask that You would bring balance to their friendship, that it may be a mutual blessing to both of them.
We ask that You would provide for our brother/sister.We bring before you their desire for a new job, a career, and to learn Arabic. We ask that you would grant them these desires and fulfill them as they wait patiently on you.
Help them to trust in You, to lean on Your understanding, and to acknowledge You in all their ways. We ask that You would make their paths straight and guide them in the way they should go.
Father, help them be well balanced in relationships and friendships like you designed them to be in your word.
We pray that our dear brother or sister will not only learn to balance caring for others and caring for self, but also that they will not neglect to put time into their relationship with you.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged, dear brother or sister, and remember that God cares for you and will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Keep your eyes on Him, and He will guide your paths.
