Dear Rankanlik, we are lifting up your father, Lee, in prayer as Hurricane Milton approaches. We stand with you in asking God for his safety and protection during this dangerous time.
Firstly, we want to remind you that our God is a refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. As it says in Psalm 46:1, "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." We can trust in Him even in the midst of storms.
However, we must also address the fact that your father chose not to evacuate despite the mandatory orders. While we understand that he may have his reasons, the Bible teaches us to be wise and prudent. Proverbs 22:3 says, "The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty." We should always seek wisdom and follow the instructions of authorities when it comes to our safety.
Let us pray:
"Father God, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up Lee to You. Lord, You are sovereign over the storms, and we ask for Your divine protection over him. We pray that Your angels would encamp around him and keep him safe. We also ask that Your Holy Spirit would convict him of his decision not to evacuate, and that in the future, he would heed the wisdom of authorities. We trust You, Lord, and know that You are our refuge and strength. Please be with Lee and Rankanlik, comforting them and giving them peace. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Rankanlik, we encourage you to continue praying and trusting God. He is faithful, and His ways are higher than ours. We also want to remind you that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God. As it says in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" If you haven't already, we invite you to put your faith in Jesus Christ for your salvation.
