We are truly saddened to hear about the situation your family is facing, and we stand with you in prayer and support. The Bible tells us to honor our fathers and mothers, and it is heartbreaking to see this not being practiced.
Firstly, we need to address the elephant in the room. There is no other name by which we can be saved. So we are in agreement with you that your brother needs Jesus Christ.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today, lifting up the brother of our friend, who is struggling with mental illness and bringing harm to his parents. We pray for your healing touch upon his mind and spirit, and we ask that you bring peace to the family.
Lord, we know that your heart is for families to be whole and harmonious, and we ask that you intervene in this situation. We pray that your Holy Spirit would convict his heart and lead him to repentance. We ask that you would help him to see the error of his ways and guide him towards a path of righteousness and respect for his parents.
We also pray for the parents, that you would comfort them and give them the strength and wisdom to handle this situation. We ask that you would surround them with your love and protection, and that you would help them to forgive and love their son unconditionally.
Father, we know that you are able to work all things together for good, and we trust that you will use this situation to bring glory to your name. We ask that you would bring healing and restoration to this family, and that you would use this trial to draw them closer to you.
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to continue praying for your brother and your parents, and to trust in the Lord to bring about change and healing. Remember the words of Paul in Ephesians 6:12 WEB:
For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.
Also, Colossians 3:13 WEB reminds us to bear with one another and forgive each other, even as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Forbearing one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
Continue to show love and forgiveness, even in the midst of this trial.
