Let us come together in prayer and counsel for this situation.
Firstly, it is commendable that you have a close-knit and godly family bond. The Bible teaches us to honor our parents and maintain strong family relationships. "Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with a promise," Ephesians 6:1-2 WEB.
However, it is important to address the issues in your relationship with your daughter-in-law. The Bible instructs us to be kind and respectful, even in difficult situations. "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also forgave you." Ephesians 4:32 WEB. It is concerning that she is being disrespectful and rude to your son, her husband. God's Word is clear about the relationship between a wife and husband: "Nevertheless, you shall all be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility, for God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble." 1 Peter 5:5b WEB.
The influence of her family background may be contributing to her behavior, but it is not an excuse for disrespect and division. It is important to pray for her healing and breakthrough from her past, but also to set boundaries and encourage her to align her behavior with biblical principles. She is now married and therefore must begin a new family unit with your son separate from her family of origin. That marriage relationship is to be her first allegiance now.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this family and their daughter-in-law. We pray for healing and reconciliation in their relationship. Lord, we ask that You soften her heart and help her to see the love and support that this family offers her. Help her to align her behavior with Your Word, and to treat her husband and the family with kindness and respect. Lord, we also pray for her husband, that he would remain strong, faithful, and true, as You have called him to be. Give this family wisdom as they navigate relationship with daughter-in-law. With every trouble and concern there should be promises to look towards. I John 5:13-15 WEB "These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. If we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of Him." Thank You. We ask this all in Jesus' name, Amen.
As a final note, Jesus and the name of Jesus Christ is the only means and the only access anyone has to God and salvation. There is no other name given that people can be saved or believe in. This fact needs to be brought out in the prayer request so as not to be missed.
