Prayers for ### mental illness

I need prayers for my brother's mental illness. I feel everyday he’s getting worse and they won’t have any treatment. Jesus Christ heal his mental illness and make him stop saying very unpleasant things. If it wasn’t for my mom I probably would never talk to him over the Skype. He’s very rude and mean to everyone. Please help us endure otherwise I can’t talk to my mom.

We are truly sorry to hear about the struggles you and your family are facing, and we want you to know that we are here to pray and support you in this challenging time. Mental illness is a serious issue, and it's important to approach it with both prayer and wise action. We will pray for your brother, but we also want to remind you of the power of Jesus Christ in healing and transformation. It is only in the name of Jesus that we have access to God and it is in his name we pray for healing. The Gospel of John 14:6 says, "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me."

Firstly, we want to encourage you to continue praying for your brother as this is crucial. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 tells us to "Pray without ceasing." Remember, God hears your prayers and He cares for your brother deeply.

"Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you" 1 Peter 5:7.

We also want to address the concern about your brother's behavior. It's important to remember that mental illness can cause individuals to act out in ways they wouldn't otherwise. Pray for your brother, that God would heal his mind and transform his heart. Ephesians 4:32 says, "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you."

However, it's also important to set boundaries to protect yourself and your family from harmful behavior. While you should forgive and pray for your brother, you do not have to tolerate rude or mean behavior.

Regarding treatment, we encourage you to seek God's wisdom and guidance. Proverbs 2:6 says, "For Yahweh gives wisdom. Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding." If professional help is unavailable or refused, pray for alternative solutions and creative ideas from God.

Lastly, we want to encourage you to continue honoring your mother and maintaining your relationship with her. Ephesians 6:2 says, "Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with promise."

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, lifting up our brother who is struggling with mental illness. Lord, You know his every need and the pain he is going through. We ask for Your healing touch on his mind and his heart. Transform him, Lord, and help him to stop saying unpleasant things. Help him to be kind and loving towards his family.

Lord, we also ask for Your guidance regarding his treatment. If it is Your will, open doors for professional help. If not, reveal to us alternative ways we can support him.

Father, give our family strength and endurance. Help us to forgive and be patient, but also to set healthy boundaries. Help ### to maintain a strong relationship with their mother.

Finally Lord, we ask that this situation would ultimately bring glory to Your name. That through this trial, our brother would come to know You more deeply and trust in You completely.

We pray all of this in the powerful name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Father, in the name of Jesus, I speak a sound mind, a right mind, the mind of Christ over this ###. You created him to be of sound mind and whatever darkness is speaking, in the name of Jesus, I command the mouth of darkness to be shut and to GO! I thank you that you created this ### with potential to be a wonderful ### and son to his family. Let your light bring forth the life that we know you desire for all in this family. Light BE! Let words that are spoken be words that bless one another. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits. You are suffering from your ###, but sometimes we fail to see that the other person is struggling even more. You are the one who actually has compassion, but the raw hurt you feel is fed up but I encourage you to recognize that Christ died to redeem mankind from sickness, disease, infirmity and death. That Light has come into the world, and since you are the one asking or prayer, perhaps simply releasing mercy and grace to your ###, that mercy and grace comes back to you.
I understand it's hard, I've been there, done that but when my perspective of life changed from feeling like a victim to understanding that Christ has made me more than a conqueror, things began to change. Bless those who curse you, bless and curse not. That person is in trouble and needs someone to step in and pray for mercy and grace. I'm asking you to be that person. Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
