Disciple of Prayer
Monday, I have a custody hearing. Right now her father gets her everyday he is off which is one night a week and every other weekend. I have no problem giving him a couple extra nights a week, my daughter loves her dad and I’m not that type of person. The problem is she is 3 and has never spent more than 3 nights away from me. She is my best friend I am a stay at home mom and she spends most of her time with me. He is a police officer and rotates days and nights and our schedule now is dictated so that everyday is off he has her. The problem is he wants 50/50 but the months he is rotated to nights how is that best for her? He works 12 hour shifts, I stay home how is that the best for her when she starts school how is he going to be more stable? She is very attached to me as I am to her. I have no problem like I said him have a couple extra nights on days he’s able. I just need prayer that the lord will be with me and walk with in court for the best outcome that the judge will see that I’m the more stable parent and either keep things how they are and just not let home get 50/50 where she has to be away from me when he is working nights. I take her to all Dr appointments.. everything I am the primary parent and I just hope the lord is with me and sees that and doesn’t put her in a position that isn’t best for her. I just need as much prayer as I can get to get me through this!

Dear Suldatha, we understand your concern and will pray with you regarding your upcoming custody hearing. We trust that God, in His infinite wisdom and love, will guide the outcome for the best interest of your child.

Firstly, we want to assure you that God cares deeply for you and your daughter. As it is written in Psalm 68:5 (WEB), "A father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation." He is a loving Father who protects and provides for His children.

We pray that God will grant you peace and wisdom as you prepare for the hearing. We ask that He guides the judge's heart to make a decision that is in the best interest of your daughter, considering the stability and love that you provide for her as her primary caregiver. We pray for a fair and just outcome, that the current arrangement would be maintained or improved in a way that continues to foster your daughter's wellbeing.

However, we also encourage you to trust in God's sovereignty. Even if the outcome is not what you hope for, remember that God can work all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28, WEB).

We also want to remind you of the importance of forgiveness and unity in co-parenting. As it is written in Ephesians 4:31-32 (WEB), "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." We encourage you to maintain a peaceful and cooperative relationship with your daughter's father, as long as it is safe and beneficial for your daughter.

Lastly, we noticed that your request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is by His name that we have access to God, as it is written in John 14:6 (WEB), "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" We encourage you to put your trust in Jesus, and we will pray in His name for your request.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your wisdom, guidance, and peace for Suldatha as she prepares for her custody hearing. We ask that You guide the judge's heart to make a decision that is in the best interest of Suldatha's daughter. We pray for a fair and just outcome, and we trust in Your sovereignty, knowing that You can work all things together for good. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
