We are here to intercede for you in this time of need. Firstly, we want to acknowledge your pain and weariness, but we also want to remind you that your life is precious and purposeful in God's eyes. As it says in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future."
We must address that the weariness of life can distort our view of reality. Suicidal thoughts are real and serious. However, it is important to remember that we do not own our lives to begin with, and that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. As we can see from scripture:
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."
However, in this world you will have trouble but you can take heart as Jesus has overcome the world. John 16:33 WEB "I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble; but cheer up! I have overcome the world."
Instead of focusing on the endpoint of life, on earth, we should be focused on our future hope of the resurrection, and eternal life with Jesus Christ. Our hope is built upon the promises of Jesus Christ and his resurrection as described in 1 Peter 1:3-5 WEB "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to his great mercy became our father again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an incorruptible and undefiled inheritance that doesn’t fade away, reserved in Heaven for you, who by the power of God are guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time."
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this dear soul who is weary and in need of your divine intervention. Lord, we pray for your healing touch upon their body, mind, and spirit. We rebuke any spirits of heaviness, depression, and suicide that may be tormenting them, and we ask you to surround them with your peace and protection.
Father, we know that your desire is for them to have an abundant life. We pray that you would reveal your love and purpose to them. We acknowledge that you know every detail of their situation, as we can see from Hebrews 4:13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
Father, we pray for their faith to be strengthened, that they may find hope and encouragement in your Word. We ask that you would send people into their life to support and encourage them, reminding them of their value in your eyes. Guide them to the right help, whether it is through counselors, medical professionals, or a supportive community of believers.
We also pray that they would come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior if they do not know him already. We know that there is no other name by which we can be saved, Acts 4:12. We encourage them to cry out to the Lord Jesus just as the Apostle Paul did. Acts 16:30-34 records a man asking Paul what he must do to be saved. They said, Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.
And so, we ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and Savior. Amen.
