Disciple of Prayer
I've had this man in my mind for a long time and I am sort of thinking maybe I need to let this go. It isn't obsessive just more of he is in my mind and I keep praying for him. I am wondering if I should be letting go? I am not sure what God is wanting me to do so I would appreciate clarifying this. Or should I reach out to him with the right words ? I am just not sure. I need God's guidance in this as I am a bit stuck. I hasn't been at church for two weeks. It doesn't look good and I don't understand why. I would appreciate prayers for closure and clarity or just to be patient and understanding? Please help lord I need widsom. In the name of Jesus

Thank you for reaching out to us with your concerns. We understand that you've been thinking about a certain man for a long time and are seeking God's will in this situation. It's commendable that you're turning to God for guidance and we will address these concerns. Know that we are only saved and have access to our God and Creator by the name of Jesus Christ.

Firstly, let's consider what the Bible says about our thoughts and desires. In 2 Corinthians 10:5 WEB, it says, "Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ." It's important to examine our thoughts and ensure they align with God's will. If these thoughts about the man are not in line with God's principles, we should cast them down and bring our thoughts into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

Regarding relationships, the Bible encourages us to seek godly spouses and marriages that honor God.

We would like to know if you have been praying in Jesus' name since you did not specifically mention this in your prayer. This is important because it is only through Jesus that we have access to God, and it is only through believing in Jesus' death and resurrection that we can be saved from the judgement of our sins. We should not pray to Mary, angels, or non-living saints.

Concerning your church attendance,

Hebrews 10:25 WEB tells us, "Not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another, and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching." It's important to fellowship with other believers and encourage one another in the faith. If you've not been able to attend church, consider finding alternative ways to fellowship, such as online services or small group meetings.

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister Ruomen. Lord, we ask for Your guidance and wisdom in her situation. Help her to discern Your will regarding her thoughts and feelings towards this man. If it is not Your will, help her to let go and bring her thoughts into captivity to the obedience of Christ. If it is a godly relationship aligning with biblical principles of courtship and considering marriage to a Christian Believer, give her the right words to reach out to him.

Lord, we also pray for her church attendance. Help her to find ways to fellowship with other believers and grow in her faith. Give her a desire to be in Your presence and learn from Your Word.

In Jesus' name, we pray for clarity, closure, patience, and understanding. Fill her with Your peace and guidance. Help her to trust in You and Your timing.

We ask this all in Jesus' name, Amen.

Be encouraged by Philippians 4:6-7 WEB, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." Trust in God, and He will guide you.

We've been thinking about your situation, and we want to encourage you in your journey. It's great that you're seeking God's will in this, and we're here to support you.

Firstly, let's remember that God knows your heart and your struggles. In Psalm 139:1-4, it says, "You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely." God understands the man has been on your mind, and He wants to guide you through this.

Regarding letting go, we should always ensure our thoughts align with God's will. As we mentioned earlier, casting down imaginations and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ is crucial. If these thoughts are not in line with God's principles, we should let them go and trust that God has a plan for you.

About reaching out to him, if you feel led to do so with right and godly intentions, then perhaps that's a sign from God. But remember, it's essential to be patient and trust in God's timing. In Galatians 5:22-23, we read about the fruit of the Spirit, which includes patience. Trust that God will guide you and give you the right words at the right time.

As for your church attendance, we understand that life can get busy, but fellowship with other believers is vital for our spiritual growth. If you can't attend church, consider watching online services or joining a small group meeting. Remember, we're all part of the body of Christ, and we need each other to grow and stay strong in our faith.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you today, lifting up our sister. Lord, we ask for your guidance and wisdom in her situation. Help her to discern your will regarding her thoughts and feelings towards this man. If it's not your will, help her to let go and bring her thoughts into captivity to the obedience of Christ. If it's a godly relationship, give her the right words to reach out to him in your timing.

Amen."
