Jennifer and Stephen, we stand with you in prayer and petition, seeking God's healing and restoration. Lack of focus, anhedonia, and depression are real struggles, but we trust in the power of Jesus' name to bring relief and renewal.
Firstly, we encourage both of you to cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7 WEB). It's crucial to remember that God is always near to those who are brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18 WEB).
However, we want to gently remind you that the struggle with focus and depression can sometimes stem from a disconnect in our spiritual lives. Jesus said, "I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me, and I in him, the same bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing" (John 15:5 WEB). We encourage you both to examine your hearts and ensure that you are remaining in Him, as your source of strength and hope.
Let us pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Stephen and Jennifer. Lord, you know the struggles they are facing with focus and depression. We ask that you bring healing and restoration to their minds and hearts. Help them to fix their eyes on you, the author and perfecter of their faith (Hebrews 12:2 WEB). Give them the strength to endure and overcome, and fill them with your joy and peace. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Additionally, we encourage you both to support each other in love, as husband and wife, submitting yourselves to one another in reverence for Christ (Ephesians 5:21 WEB). Stand together in faith, and trust that God will see you through this challenging season. Remember, God's word says that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28 WEB).
Lastly, if you haven't already, consider seeking godly counsel from your church community or a Christian professional who can provide additional support and guidance.
