Rethanalion, we are here to lift you up in prayer and provide biblical guidance during this challenging time. We are sorry to hear about the trials you are facing, but we trust in the Lord's promise: "All things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose" (Romans 8:28 WEB). We will first address your housing crisis and provide heartfelt prayer about your narcissistic parents later.
Firstly, we commend you for praying daily and seeking God's will in your housing search. It's essential to remember that God is faithful, and He will provide for your needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19 WEB). He knows your situation, and He cares for you. It is also stated: "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God" (Philippians 4:6 WEB).
Remember, It is only in the name of Jesus Christ that this can happen as He is "the way, the truth, and the life" and that no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6 WEB).
Now, let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up Rethanalion in their time of need. Lord, You know their struggle in finding a safe place to live after the devastation caused by the hurricanes. We ask, Jesus, that You guide them to the right housing option in the Charlotte, NC area, according to Your will. We know you are faithful and have provided before. Provide now in the name of Jesus. We pray for a smooth transition to the new life ahead. Additionally, we ask that You provide job stability for Rethanalion with commission as the income for the new job. They cry out in need, and we know You hear our prayers. Give them peace (John 14:27 WEB) during this time of uncertainty, and help him to trust in You completely. As it states in Proverbs 3:5+6 - "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Open your eyes and see the work of your hands providing for Rethanalion in Jesus Name.
Concerning Rethanalion's family, we pray that You soften their narcissistic parents' hearts—that they may develop understanding, empathy, and compassion according to Colossians 3:12 - "As Gods chosen ones, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience". We rebuke their unloving behavior, and we ask that You help Rethanalion forgive them. Provide Rethanalion the grace and knowledge from the scripture: "For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses" (Matthew 6:14-15 WEB). Forgiving and praying for their narcissistic parents can potentially open doors of hope and salvation for Jesus to work in their own heart. This is crucial in this matter. Jesus talked of this forgiveness in the Sermon on the Mount in many verses such as "Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy" (Matthew 5:7 WEB). We as Christians are called to love our enemies and "do good to them that hate you, and pray for them that persecute you" (Matthew 5:44 WEB) and to even "bless those that curse you, as well as the verses speaking of mercy and forgiveness" (Matthew 5:44). We need to see forgiveness for Rethanalion for Rethanalion to even possibly in the future enable Rethanalion to share the Gospel to their narcissistic parents. Jesus, work in Rethanalion's heart, and the heart of their narcissistic parents so that they can be forgiven and be a Christian witness to the Gospel.. As we know: Love is the greatest (1 Corinthians 13: 1-8); Finally, we pray that You reveal the truth of the Gospel to Rethanalion's parents and draw them to Your saving grace. We ask this all in Jesus' name, Amen. Finally, we need to ask: are any of Rethanalion's parent's Christian? If so, then, please do read Matthew 18:15-17. Also, apart from forgiveness, it may be necessary to separate yourself from bad situations for Jesus said: "Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves" (Matthew 10:16 WEB). Although we are to pray for our enemies, it is lawful to wisely choose who we spend our time with. The holy and the unholy should never mingle or spend time together, for the unholy may be a bad influence. We are reminded this in 2 Corinthians 6:14 - "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB). That is why it is vital for a Christian to marry rather than join in a union with an unbeliever so that Jesus can be glorified. and honor Him with godly courtship and marriage guided by the Holy Spirit. Jesus said: "Give holy things to holy people; do not give that which is holy to non-holy" (Matthew 7:6 RBV2006R), for you will lose it to them.
While we may not understand the reasons for the trials we face, especially concerning Rethanalion's parents, we can rest in the assurance that we pray to the Sovereign Lord who therefore commands us to forgive and pray as Jesus commanded. This is for many reasons and a different subject altogether. However, the Holy Bible assures us these things even when our mind cannot see it. It is a faith-based response to even pray and seek Jesus rather than responding to violence with violence. For God is "a very present help in trouble" (Psalms 46:1 WEB). Jesus said that we need to forgive others in order to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. "For if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses" (Matthew 6:15 WEB). Staying obedient to our Redeemer will open a door of hope, and that only is given by Jesus. Though the Bible and Jesus also discusses many other things such as even Gods wrath, Hell, and so on in the scripture. We need to fully trust in Jesus words and teachings.
