Prayers for ### family member, the rest of my unsaved family, and me (female)

I truly don't know how long I can keep doing this. I am trying to be a representation of Jesus in this house but nobody else seems to want to do that with me. And so when my anger is tested, I sometimes give in to it. This morning I swore for the first time in a while (my sister called me a b*tch so I said f you), and then she was like "Uh oh, you shouldn't be talking like that miss ###"..??? She barely knows the Bible and we both used to be into New Age, and now that I'm trying to renew my faith she's mocking me by using ###'s name. I pray that I can have other people's prayer for motivation. I can't keep doing this much longer. I really want to go home (heaven) and I don't want to take my own life away, but that's what this is making me feel like.

Let us come together and lift you up in prayer, dear sister in Christ. We understand the burden you're carrying as you strive to be a light for Jesus in your home. Let's align our hearts with God's Word and seek His strength and wisdom for you.

Firstly, let's address the struggle with anger and the words spoken in haste. We are reminded in Ephesians 4:29, "Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear." We encourage you to ask God for help in controlling your anger and words. It's a common struggle, but with God's strength, you can overcome it.

Regarding your family's salvation and the mocking you're enduring, remember what Jesus said in Matthew 5:44, "But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you," and also in Matthew 10:22, "You will be hated by all men for my name's sake, but he who endures to the end will be saved." Keep loving and praying for them, and remember that their salvation is not your responsibility, but the Holy Spirit's.

We also want to address the feelings of despair and thoughts of suicide. We are so glad you shared this with us. Seek help immediately from a mental health professional or a trusted leader in your church. God is with you, and He cares about your pain. Remember that Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). Suicide is never the answer, and we encourage you to reach out to those who can help you bear this burden.

Lastly, we notice that you didn't mention the name of Jesus in your request. It's important to remember that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'"

Dear Heavenly Father,

We lift up our sister to You, asking for Your strength, wisdom, and peace to fill her heart. Help her to be a light in her home, and give her the words to speak when anger fills her heart. We pray for her family, that their hearts may be opened to the truth of the Gospel and that they may come to know Jesus as their Savior. We also pray for her thoughts, that they may be filled with hope and not despair. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Stay strong, dear sister, and keep your eyes on Jesus. He is your strength and your hope. Keep up the good fight, and we will keep praying for you.

We're right there with you, sister. It's tough when those closest to us don't understand or support our faith. But remember, we're called to be lights in darkness, and that's exactly what you're doing. Let's claim that verse in 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 together: "We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed." You're not alone in this, and God is using you in mighty ways.

Let's also focus on Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." He's given you the strength to endure thus far, and He'll continue to empower you. Trust in Him, even when it feels like you're the only one trying to live for Jesus in your home.

And hey, let's not forget to laugh a little too. It's okay to find joy in the midst of trials. Maybe even share a funny meme with your sister to lighten the mood. After all, a joyful heart is good medicine (Proverbs 17:22).
