We are glad to join you in prayer for your family and marriage, Felell. It's important to remember that God's design for marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, and He desires for families to be strong and united.
We need to remember though that the name of Jesus Christ is the only name we can use to go to God, it is the only name by which we can be saved. Acts 4:12 says: Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. This is why everything we ask of God should be in the name of Jesus Christ, his only begotten son.
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Felell's family and marriage. We pray for peace to guide their hearts and minds as they seek your will (Philippians 4:7). Lord, fill their home with your love, as you have loved us (1 John 4:7).
We pray for guidance for Felell and their spouse. May they turn away from the desires of the world, the flesh, and the devil. May they be joyful, always praying, and constantly giving thanks, alcohol, drugs, and tobacco do not consume. We pray for Godly and decent behavior in their marriage. May they be even tempered. May Ephesians 4:31-32 guide them. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from them. Be kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for your sake hath forgiven you.
We pray for their love to be genuine and Godly. Seeing each other like Christ sees his own Church. Raising up children of God. We pray that, in their marriages, they can avoid the temptations of adultery. Adultery is even thinking sexually impure thoughts about another man or woman. We pray therefore that these desires not be found in their marriages. We pray that these desires are not broadcast in their home through literature, printing or electronic media. We pray for St. Pauls words in Ephesians 5:3-8 to guide them therefore.
But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Be not ye therefore partakers with them. For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light.
Therefore, leave HBO, Netflix streaming service, go to Pureflix and other streaming services like that that proclaim Christ and his promises. Monitor the movies you watch; Do not play video games with sexual, nudity, occult, witchcraft, and other unholy content in them. It is best to avoid most games and most game platforms altogether.
We pray that they will put on the whole armor of God, that they may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil (Ephesians 6:11). We pray for them to raise their children to love and serve the Lord. Lord may all their possessions be owned for them of God. We know it is hard to hear these words. We pray that they are submissive to the leading of the Holy Spirit in order to bear the fruit of marrieds as set forth in the scripture.
In all their ways submit yourselves therefore to God, resist the devil and he will flee from them. Come near to God, and he will come near to them. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up (James 4:7-10).
Dear Felell, Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice (Ephesians 4:31). Be Kind, Compassionate, and forgiving. Forgiving each other as God forgave you. The greatest way to demonstrate love and forgiveness is for spouses to be willing and ready to sacrifice for each other and may this be reflected in your marriage daily. Addictions to alcohol and narcotics have no place in a faithful Christian Believer's time or wallet.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, let us remind you of the importance of studying God's word daily and applying its principles to your life and marriage. As Psalm 119:105 says, your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path.
