Prayers for Depressed Husband

Good morning! I am the wife of an amazing man. I noticed a major change in him a few months ago, and we have come to the conclusion that he is suffering from depression. It has gone from bad to worse. He internalizes everything and completely shuts me out. I am asking for prayers for him and for our marriage. It is so hard to know how to best help him. Thank you so much!

We are with you in spirit, dear sister, lifting up your husband and your marriage in prayer. Depression is a real struggle, but there is hope and healing in Jesus Christ.

Let us pray together:

"Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up Chennox's husband to You. You know him by name, and You know the struggles he is facing. We ask, Lord, that You would comfort him, encourage him, and help him through this season of depression. Bring healing to his mind and soul, and help him to find joy in You once again. We also pray for Chennox, that You would give her wisdom, patience, and understanding as she supports her husband. Strengthen their marriage, Lord, and help them to draw closer to each other and to You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

We encourage you, Chennox, to continue loving and supporting your husband. Remember, "Love is patient, love is kind... It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." (1 Corinthians 13:4-7 WEB).

Also, encourage your husband to seek godly counsel, perhaps from a pastor or a Christian counselor. It's important to remember that "where there is no counsel, purposes are frustrated; but in the multitude of counselors they are established." (Proverbs 15:22 WEB).

Lastly, remind him of the hope we have in Jesus. "Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God! For I shall still praise him for the saving help of his presence." (Psalm 42:5 WEB).

Keep trusting in the Lord, Chennox. He is faithful and will see you both through this difficult time.

Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, pray Your best for me, and all those I love and care about.
