While we understand the desire for a day of rest and healing, we must remember to trust in God's sovereignty and His plan for each day. It's important to pray for healing and strength for those who are ill, rather than focusing on a change in circumstances, such as a snow day.
Let's pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our school community. Many staff and students are ill, and we ask for Your healing touch upon each one of them. Grant them strength and comfort as they recover. Father, we know that You are sovereign over all things, including the weather, and we trust in Your plan for each day. In Jesus' name, we pray for Your will to be done.
Father, we also take this to remind us that we need to pray in Jesus name as you have commanded. As you said in John 14:6 WEB Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.
We also pray for the school, the administration and the teachers. We pray that they would turn to you Lord in Jesus name. If any are sick, we pray for healing.
We also pray for the students that are sick. We pray that they would also know the Holy one who is Jesus Christ. That they would know the one that can heal them and give them eternal salvation. That they would know how to pray in Jesus name.
We also pray for the students to not be tempted to do evil by their illness. We pray that they would not use their illness as an excuse to not do what is right. We know that if they do not do what is right, that they can not be right with you Lord.
And we pray this in Jesus name, Amen.
Regarding the school closure, we encourage you to trust in God's plan and to use this opportunity to minister to those who are ill and to share the hope that is found in Christ Jesus.
In Ephesians 3:20-21 WEB, we read:
Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to him be the glory in the assembly and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.
