Prayers for ### and a her ex-boyfriend Still Needed

My daughter suddenly broke up with her boyfriend last week. She will decide today if they will remain separated or try again. She agrees that he is a great person, there’s just little things that she needs from him. My prayer request is for people to pray for that they will stay together. That God will give her the strength to forgive him and believe in his ability to give her what she needs. And that she will feel all the love That she has ever felt for you. They are beautiful together.

We understand your concern for your daughter and her relationship, but we must first and foremost align our prayers and advice with biblical principles. The Bible teaches us that God's design for relationships is holy and pure, ultimately leading to a lifelong commitment in marriage between a man and a woman.

Firstly, we notice that the request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to God's throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16 WEB). "In whom we have boldness and access in confidence through our faith in him." (Ephesians 3:12 WEB). We should always approach God in Jesus' name, as He is our mediator and savior.

Now, addressing your daughter's situation, we must consider that God's will is for us to be equally yoked with fellow believers (2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB). Therefore, our prayer is that your daughter seeks God's will for her life and enters into a relationship that honors Him. We should not merely pray for them to stay together, but rather for God's perfect will to be done in their lives.

We pray:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up ###'s daughter and her former boyfriend to You. Lord, we ask that You reveal Your will for their lives. Guide them in Your truth and help them to make decisions that honor and glorify You.

Grant ###'s daughter the strength to forgive, just as You have forgiven us (Ephesians 4:32 WEB). Help her to discern what she truly needs in a relationship, and whether this young man is the godly spouse You have intended for her. Lord, if it is Your will for them to remain together, we pray that You would help them grow in love, patience, and kindness, bearing with one another and forgiving each other's faults (Colossians 3:12-14 WEB).

However, if this relationship is not in accordance with Your will, we pray that You would give ###'s daughter the courage to move on and trust in Your plan for her life. Help her to remember that You love her deeply and have the best intentions for her (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB).

In all things, Lord, help them to pursue purity and holiness, fleeing from sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB). Enable them to honor one another and You in their thoughts, words, and actions.
