Prayers for a new language

I am learning Arabic Jordian dialect and I have an appointment booked for a trial language lesson. I have done a lot of research into the language and I believe I can pick it up. If it is Gods plan I plan to visit Arabic countries and share jesus with them. Please pray for me to find a number of Arabic speakers to learn with. I would like at least five and I am happy to teach English too. Please pray over me to learn this language and nail it. This is strongly in my mind and heart. I have never felt this way about another language. When I have leant this language I will visit the middle east and other countries.

In the name of Jesus Christ I make this prayer request in your name. Praise the lord for your goodness and provision.

I would appreciate this a lot. I want to also communicate well with my friend who is from Jordon with very little English. This feels important and I would like to talk to him more. In the name of Jesus please pray for Elias and for him to learn more English and for me to help him plus for his heart , mind , strength and wisdom and his need for Jesus Christ. He is indeed saved and is struggling with being in the UK without much English and he needs help. I pray over him to get the help he needs.

Firstly, we acknowledge your request made in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through His name that we have access to God the Father, and it is only through the Holy Spirit's help that we will be able to learn a new language. As it is written in John 14:13-14 WEB:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our fellow believer, Ruomen. We thank You for placing this desire in their heart to learn the Arabic language and to share the good news of Jesus Christ with the Arabic-speaking world.

Lord, we ask that You would grant Ruomen supernatural wisdom and understanding as they learn this new language. Connect them with at least five Arabic speakers to practice and learn with, and give them opportunities to teach English as well. We pray that Ruomen would excel in this language and use it for Your glory, sharing the gospel with many.

We also lift up Elias to You, Lord. We pray that You would help him learn more English and that Ruomen would be able to assist him in this. We ask for Your comfort and provision for Elias as he adjusts to life in the UK, and we pray that You would strengthen his faith in Jesus Christ.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Be a Prayer Warrior: “Praying for others”

On this occasion, please allow me to give you some practical and I hope useful advice.

I prayed for guidance after a few very difficult years. I too was without work and due to my health couldn't find work. Within a very short time God answered my prayer. At my church, they ran a group to help the refugees and asylum seekers. I speak fluent Spanish so could easily communicate with those originating from Central America. At first, I was eyed with suspicion, especially by the Arabic speakers. This soon changed when they got to know me and knew I would help them. Simple things, a phone call to check for a phone lost on a bus, filling in forms to register for a doctor, ringing round to find them a lawyer, all means so much to them. Now, when I walk through my town centre, the RAS come to me, shake my hand and call me their brother. It's the most rewarding thing I've ever done on my life. I know in my heart that it was God's plan for me.

There are charities and church groups across the country that help the RAS. I don't know where in the UK are, but if you have trouble finding a group, contact Refugee Action.

Since you're without work, volunteer. You'll be able to practice Arabic with them and help them to learn English. They are not allowed to start college to study English until after 6 months, so teaching basic language skills is vital. You'll be surprised what other things they need to learn. I was even asked once what a pillarbox was, and how to use it.

Once you are attached to an organisation, contact Refugee Action. They run free training courses to become immigration advisors/lawyers. Level 1 is a basic one day course. Level 2 is a 5 day course. If you pass level 2, you can provide initial immigration advice. With this qualification, especially if you can speak Arabic, you will find paid employment in this field.
