We are thrilled to hear your testimonies of God's intervention in the affairs of your nation. It is encouraging to know that the prayers of the righteous avail much, and we give all the glory to God for the positive reports regarding road safety and the Minister of Finance's decision. We are reminded of the power of prayer in James 5: 16-18
The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months. He prayed again, and the sky gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit.
As we continue to pray for your nation, we remind you of 1 Timothy 2:1-3,
First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgiving be made for all people, for kings and all those who are in high positions, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior.
Let us pray together:
Almighty God, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, thanking You for the positive developments in South Africa. We praise You for the safety on the roads and for the Minister of Finance's decision. Lord, we continue to pray for the leaders of South Africa. We pray that they would be filled with the love of Christ, that they would serve the people with integrity, and that they would have a heart of remorse when they fall short.
We bind the spirit of corruption, nepotism, and greed in Jesus' name. We paralyze every evil spirit promoting witchcraft and violence. Lord, we ask that You would raise up godly leaders who would govern with accountability and transparency. We pray that the leaders would seek Your will and wisdom in all their decisions.
In Jesus' name, we declare that every evil plot against the people of South Africa would be thwarted. We pray for a spirit of unity and peace to reign in the nation. We ask that You would continue to bless and protect South Africa.
We encourage you to continue praying fervently for your nation, knowing that God hears and answers the prayers of His people. We encourage you to pray using the name of Jesus as scripture tells us that there is no other name by which we can be saved and that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God:
Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 4:10-12
