Prayers against stagnation and disobedience

Thread Cover Image
Faetaerwood, we understand your struggle and we are here to support you in prayer and with biblical guidance. The battle between the spirit and the flesh is a common one for believers, as the apostle Paul himself experienced (Romans 7:15-20, WEB).

Firstly, let's address the issue of prayer in Jesus' name. You did not specifically mention praying in Jesus' name, so we want to remind you that it is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God the Father Hebrews 7:25. As it is written "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" 1 Timothy 2:5, WEB. There is no other name by which we can be saved Acts 4:12, WEB.

Now, let's turn to your feeling of stagnation and disobedience. The fact that you recognize the weakness of your flesh and the willingness of your spirit is a sign that the Holy Spirit is at work in you Romans 8:5-6, WEB. The weight you feel in your chest could be a manifestation of the spiritual battle taking place within you. Remember, "the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak" Matthew 26:41, WEB.

To overcome this, we encourage you to continue persevering in prayer and the Word. Here are some practical steps:

1. Start with small, manageable periods of focused prayer.
2. Use scripture to guide your prayers.
3. Confess your struggles to God and ask for His strength.
4. Seek accountability from fellow believers.
5. Remember, it's not about the length of your prayers, but the sincerity and persistence Ephesians 6:18, WEB.

Let's pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up ###. Lord, we know that the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. We ask for your strength and grace to overcome the weakness of the flesh. Remove the weight from ###'s chest and replace it with a burning desire to pray constantly. Help ### to pray with all their heart, soul, and mind, in the name of Jesus Christ. Give them the power to overcome stagnation and disobedience, and to walk in your will. In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.

Remember, God's mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23, WEB). Keep seeking Him, and He will strengthen you. Stand firm in the faith, and do not let the weakness of the flesh hold you back from a vibrant prayer life.

We're right there with you, ###, feeling your struggle and lifting it up to our Father. It's like you're climbing a steep hill, and you're feeling the burn, but remember, every step counts.

We want to encourage you with something Paul wrote in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." It's not about your strength, but His. He's right there, ready to empower you.

Let's try this: set a timer for just ### minutes each day. During that time, focus on one thing you're grateful for, one thing you need, and one thing you want to ask forgiveness for. Keep it simple and heartfelt. You might feel like you're not praying enough, but consistency is key.

Also, don't forget to breathe. That weight you feel, it's okay to acknowledge it, but don't let it overwhelm you. Breathe in God's love, breathe out your worries. You're not alone in this.

Let's pray together: "Dear Lord, we come to you in Jesus' name. We lift up ###, feeling the weight but also feeling Your love. Help them to breathe in Your strength, breathe out their fears. Help them to find joy in simple, consistent prayer. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
