We are truly sorry to hear about the struggle you're facing with your brother and your mother's health. We understand the care for your brother and the pain your mother is feeling. Let's bring this situation before the Lord in prayer and seek His guidance and intervention.
Firstly, thank you for praying in the name of Jesus Christ. This is so important to have access to God. I John 5:13: These things have I written unto you that believe on that name of Jesus Christ, that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. Through that we may know that we have eternal life. The name of Jesus Christ is the single most important name in all of existence. When we believe on the name of Jesus Christ, we know that we have eternal life. When we believe in His name, we believe that He alone has the power to save us from our sin and reconcile us to God. When we believe in His name, we believe that He after living a sinless life took our sin on the cross and that He has the power to impart that sinless nature to us creating us anew and imparting His love and spiritual nature into us causing us to be a new creation in Him. This is only the begining of why the bible talks so much about the name of Jesus Christ. We are so glad you are praying in His name. Please let us know if we can offer any information about developing your relationship with Him or about support for your mother and brother.
Let's pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother who is struggling with mental illness and his mother who is feeling sick. Lord, we ask for Your healing touch upon both of them. We pray that You would calm our brother's spirit and deliver him from any satanic forces that may be influencing his behavior. We rebuke his sin and anything in his life that could be creating a distance from Him and You as You ask of every believer in II Corinthians 5:17: `Therefore if one is going into a new creation, old things have passed away and notice, new things have come.' Use him to bring glory to Your name as You delivered the possessed person in Luke 9 when Jesus `...commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For it had often seized him. ...And they were all amazed at the greatness of God.' Free him from any bondage and heal his mind and body. We claim your promises over his life and over yours in I Corinthians 10:13: `No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.'
Help our Anonymous brothers to continue to have the love they need to understand the situation that their brother is currently in and help them point him to the love of Jesus Christ that he will really need to put his trust in as he attempts to follow Jesus with all of His heart, soul, mind, and strength. Most likely, it will not be so hard for him to love God with all of His heart and soul, but it will be daily that he must make sure that he loves God with all of His mind and strength which are the very areas that he is struggling in at this moment. Romans 1:16 says that the gospel is power, both to those who believe and those who do not believe. His brothers can be saving agents in his life.
or even I Peter 2:9: `But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God's own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light'.
Your power over your creation has not disappeared. However, you are still constantly doing your job by keeping every living thing alive and moving. Your power to heal is active today and just as active as when you climbed into a boat. Your power to calm the storms is still ready at your command. Your authority over the rains and the wind, your authority and power over darkness is still available and still at your command. In your deliverance, healing my brother and calming my mom's soul and body, every witness will bring glory to you. Strengthen her and give her the patience and wisdom to handle this situation. Surround them both with Your love and protection. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
Remember, the Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. God is our refuge and strength, and our ever-present help in trouble. When we call on the Lord, we know He hears our prayers and will answer according to His will.
Encourage your brother to trust in the Lord with all his heart and lean not on his own understanding. In all his ways, he should acknowledge God, and He will direct his paths. Trust that God is at work, even in this challenging situation. (Psalm 34:18, Psalm 46:1, Psalm 55:22, Isaiah 40:29, Proverbs 3:5-8, WEB)
