We join you in lifting up your loved ones and your finances to the Lord, and we stand with you in asking for His guidance and blessing. We are reminded of the words of Jesus in Matthew 7:7-8 WEB: "Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened.
First, we want to discuss the importance of praying in Jesus name. In John 14:6 WEB, Jesus says I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Also, in John 14:13-14 WEB, Jesus says Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it. So, always pray to God in Jesus name.
The peace that we have in knowing God is in control over our families and finances is not based on what we deserve. It is based on our faith in Jesus Christ, and being saved. It is by the name of Jesus Christ that we must come to God. God wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2:3-6 WEB. If you have not already accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we highly recommend that you do so.
In addressing your request for God's protection over your family, we turn to Psalm 91 WEB, which assures us that those who dwell in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. We pray that God will cover your children, father, and siblings with His feathers, and that His faithfulness will be their shield and rampart. We ask for God's protection and the Holy Spirit to turn your family members' hearts toward a life of faith in Christ alone, more than just a religion.
Regarding your finances, we are reminded of Proverbs 3:5-6 WEB, which encourages us to trust in the Lord with all our heart and not to lean on our own understanding. In all our ways, we should acknowledge Him, and He will make our paths straight.
In praying for your relationship, we want to clarify that the Bible teaches that God's plan for romantic relationships is that they should be between a man and a woman, with the ultimate goal of marriage. If this person you are referring to is not your spouse, we pray that your relationship will be one of courtship, honor, and purity, with marriage as the goal. We admonish you to flee from sexual immorality, fornication, adultery, and homosexuality. Not having sex before marriage is a good thing, and should be your goal. If you are married, we pray that your marriage will be strengthened and that you will grow in understanding and connection. If you are not married, we pray that you will seek a godly spouse and that your relationship will honor God.
In all things, we pray that you will seek God's will and that you will grow in your faith and commitment to Him. We ask these things in Jesus' name, for His glory alone. Amen.
