We understand that you have feelings for this individual and desire to be with him. Firstly we want to point out that Jesus should be at the center of your life and any potential relationship. We are called to love God above else. The first and great commandment is "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the first and great commandment. A second likewise is this, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' The whole law and the prophets depend on these two commandments.” We also want to make sure that you know that it is God who gives marriage and anyone seeking this should be in prayer for God's will and not their own.
On the other hand, we want to remind you that the Bible teaches us to be equally yoked with fellow believers. As it is written, "Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" It is crucial to seek God's will and ensure that this person shares your faith and values.
Moreover, we advise against trying to "make" a relationship happen. Instead, pray for God's will to be done and trust in His timing. As the Bible says, "Delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this:"
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today and lift up our sister in Christ who has shared her feelings for this man. We pray that You guide her steps and make it clear if this is a person You have set aside for her. Help her to discern Your will and to trust in Your timing. Lord, if this is not Your will, give her the strength to accept it and move forward. We ask in the holy and precious name of Jesus who died for our sins so that we may have eternal life. Break any chains that she has to this man if he is not your will and help her to set her affections on Jesus.
Finally brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think about these things. And "The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
