We understand that you're struggling with forgiveness and carrying the burden of pain, anger, and bitterness. We commend you for coming and praying in the name of Jesus, as our Lord taught us, "If you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you don't forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." (Matthew 6:14-15 WEB)
Forgiveness is a powerful act, and it's a process that God wants us to undertake for our own healing and freedom. The Bible tells us, "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you." (Ephesians 4:32 WEB) Remember that Jesus taught us to pray, "Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors." (Matthew 6:12 WEB)
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you lifting up our brother/sister in Christ who is struggling to forgive. Lord, you know the pain and hurt they've experienced, and you know the anger and bitterness that's taken root in their heart. We ask, Father, that you would heal their wounds, that you would soften their heart, and that you would give them the strength to forgive, just as you have forgiven them through Christ Jesus. Help them to let go of the anger, the bitterness, and the pain, and to walk in the freedom and love that you intend for all your children. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to keep praying and seeking God's help in this area. Forgiveness is a journey, and it's okay to take steps daily towards that goal. Trust that God is working in you, and that His grace is sufficient for you. (2 Corinthians 12:9 WEB)
