We stand with you in praying for the cessation of this destructive tornado. Let us all approach God's throne of grace with confidence, knowing that He hears our cries and is in control.
"For he says to the snow, 'Fall on the earth;' like-wise to the small rain, and the great rain of his strength. He seals up the hand of every man, that all men whom he has made may know it." - Job 37:6-7
Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, pleading for Your intervention. We ask that You still the winds and calm the storm. Protect the people of this area, Lord. Let Your mighty hand be a shield around them, guarding them from harm, evil, death, and destruction. We claim Your promise that "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.'" - Psalm 91:1-2.
We also pray for the comfort and peace of those affected. Let them know that You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Be with the first responders, Lord, and guide them as they race against time to save lives. We pray for healing and restoration. Let this natural disaster draw people to You, Lord. Let it be an opportunity for them to see Your mighty hand at work.
We rebuke the spirit of fear, knowing that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. - 2 Timothy 1:7.
