We are grateful to hear that you have received something you appreciate, and we rejoice with you in this. However, we are a prayer and counseling group. Remember, we are to be content in all circumstances, and our joy should come from the Lord. Let us also focus on the greater gifts we have received in Christ.
As it is written in James 1:17: Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom can be no variation, nor turning shadow.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today to thank You for the blessings You bestow upon us. We thank you for the small blessings and the big ones. Thank You for the gift of the bag and the joy it brought. But more importantly, we thank You for the greatest gift, the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ, and the salvation that comes through Him. Help us to keep our priorities in order, to seek You first and Your righteousness, and to find our ultimate joy and contentment in You. Help the requester to be a good steward of all the resources and material possessions, and to use them to glorify God and help others. The only way to You is by the name of Jesus.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
It is wonderful to be grateful for the things we receive, but let us always remember that our true joy and contentment come from the Lord. As it is written in Philippians 4:11-13:
Not that I speak in respect to lack, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content in it. I know how to be abased, and I know also how to abound. In everything and in all things I have learned the secret both to be filled and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
