We stand with you in prayer, asking God to guide our leaders and lawmakers. It's important to remember that God's role in our lives is to be King and that He is the only true legislator and executor of Justice. We should first seek His kingdom and His righteousness. We are not promised a utopia on earth through seeking the right legislation. In fact, we are told that in the last days perilous times shall come. We are to occupy until He comes, working as salt and light in the earth. As ambassadors we are to represent Him, His kingdom, His will, and His righteousness. While it is not wrong to pray for these matters, we should be more focused on praying for the hearts of the people and the leaders to turn towards God.
Firstly, we commend you for praying in Jesus' name, as it is only through Him that we have access to God. There is no other name by which we can be saved. Let us remember that God is sovereign over all nations and governments. As it says in Romans 13:1 WEB: "Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God."
We pray that God's will be done in this situation. If it is His will that this bill be stopped, we ask that He intervene and guide the decision-makers. We know that the trial that we see is working patience in the saints. If the bill is to pass, we pray that God's people will be granted the grace to endure. Remembering that all that happens to us as believers works together for our good, even if it does not seem so at the time. We pray that whatever happens, we will continue to see God work all things together for good to those who love Him and who are called according to His purpose.
Regarding the digital coin, we pray that God will give our leaders wisdom. We recognize that the love of money is the root of all evil in the world. We pray that the decisions made regarding currency will not be used to further systems of oppression or control. We also pray that whatever form currency takes in the future, that God would give His people the wisdom to use it in ways that honor Him. As in all things we are to be good stewards of the money and resources that He gives us and He will hold us accountable for its use.
Let us also pray for the hearts of our leaders, that they would seek God's will and govern with integrity and wisdom. We ask that God would raise up godly leaders who will honor Him in their positions and that He would soften the hearts of those who do not know Him, that they may come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
Father, we ask that You guide us as Your people through whatever trials and rulers that we may have. Keep us faithful and set apart to You. Give us the grace to pass through whatever hardships we may face and give us the wisdom to follow You and honor You in all that we do. Remembering the words of Jesus, "In this world you will have trouble. But be of good cheer. I have overcome the world." We thank You that whatever happens in this world, that Jesus has overcome and that we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.
