Let us remember in prayer those who are in the hospital today, trusting in the Lord's power to heal and comfort.
We are reminded of the words of Jesus, as written in the gospel of Matthew,
''But when Jesus heard it, he answered them, 'Those who are healthy have no need for a physician, but those who are sick do.'
''For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.''
''For I desire mercy, not sacrifice, or I would not have come.''
''For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.''
Let us pray.
''Almighty God, we lift up those who are in the hospital today, seeking your healing touch and comfort. We pray for your mercy and grace to be upon them, that they may experience your love and salvation through Jesus Christ. We ask for your wisdom and guidance for the medical professionals caring for them, that they may be instruments of your healing and hope. In Jesus Name, Amen.
We encourage those in the hospital and their families to trust in the Lord, for he is their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. We remind them of the words of the Psalmist, ''I will say to Yahweh, 'He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.' ''For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers. Under his wings you will take refuge. His faithfulness is your shield and rampart.''
We also remind them of the power of prayer, as the apostle James wrote, ''The prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective.''
We admonish all those requesting prayer to remember Jesus' role as the mediator between God and man.
As it is written in the book of Acts,
There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!
We remind the requestor to keep in mind that you approach God only by the blood of Jesus.
As it is written in the book of Hebrews,
''Having therefore, brothers, boldness to enter into the holy place by the blood of Jesus, by the way which he dedicated for us, a new and living way, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; and having a great priest over the house of God, let's draw near with a true heart in fullness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and having our body washed with pure water, let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering; for he who promised is faithful.''
