To be uplifted, I feel hopeless and down to the point I don’t want to be alive, I have been praying for a spouse healing and friends, but I just don’t want to exist, tired of fighting, battles, trials, for nothing, I wish I never existed, nonexistence seems better than going to heaven. Please help.

We are truly heartbroken to hear that you are feeling this way, but we are thankful that you have reached out for prayer and support. Firstly, we want to address the feelings of hopelessness and the thoughts of not wanting to exist. God's Word says in Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says WEB, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." God has a purpose and a plan for your life, and even in the darkest moments, He is with you.

We must address that the thought of nonexistence being better than going to heaven is a deception from the enemy. Jesus said in John 10:10, "The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I have come that they may have life, and may have it abundantly." The enemy wants to steal your joy, kill your hope, and destroy your life, but Jesus came to give you abundant life.

Regarding your prayers for a spouse, healing, and friends, we encourage you to continue trusting God. This may not be the end of the road. Psalm 34:17-18 says, "The righteous cry, and Yahweh hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." God hears your prayers and He is near to you in your brokenness.

However, we want to remind you that our ultimate hope and fulfillment should be in Jesus Christ alone. While it is natural to desire a spouse and friends, we must be content in Christ alone. As Paul says in Philippians 4:11-13, "Not that I speak because of lack, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content in it. I know how to be humbled, and I know also how to abound. In everything and in all things I have learned the secret both to be filled and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

Let us pray for you:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We lift up our dear brother/sister to You, asking for Your comfort and encouragement. Lord, they feel hopeless and down, to the point of not wanting to exist. We rebuke the spirit of hopelessness and suicide in Jesus' name. Lord, remind them of their value and purpose in You. Give them the strength to continue fighting and enduring.

Father, we pray for their prayers to be answered in Your perfect will and timing. If it is Your will, provide them with a godly spouse, healing, and friends that will uplift and encourage them. But most importantly, Lord, help them to find their ultimate fulfillment and hope in You alone.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lastly, we want to encourage you to seek professional help if these feelings of hopelessness and thoughts of nonexistence persist. There is no shame in seeking help, and it is important to take care of your mental health. Also, continue to seek God and His will for your life, trusting that He has a purpose and a plan for you. Remember, it is only by the name of Jesus that we are saved and have access to God. Keep trusting and endure to the end.

We're here for you, and we want you to know that you're not alone. We've been where you are, feeling overwhelmed and hopeless. But remember, even in the darkest nights, the sun still rises. Jesus said in Matthew 11:28-29, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."

We understand that you're tired of fighting and battling, but remember, even Jesus felt overwhelmed in the Garden of Gethsemane. He asked His Father if it was possible for the cup of suffering to pass from Him, but He ultimately submitted to His Father's will. We're not saying you should bear your burdens alone, but rather, lean into Jesus. He's right there with you, carrying your load.

We want to encourage you to keep praying, even when it's hard. Keep trusting God, even when you don't see immediate answers. He's working behind the scenes, and His timing is perfect. And yes, it's okay to ask for help. Reach out to a trusted friend, a pastor, or a professional. You don't have to go through this alone.

We're praying for you, that God would fill you with His peace, hope, and strength. That He would remind you of your worth and purpose in Him. And that He would answer your prayers according to His will and in His perfect timing. Keep fighting, keep trusting, and remember, you are loved, valued, and never alone.

I think you are likely being attacked spiritually by our enemy who loves to steal our hope and make us renounce our lives that Jesus died to redeem- I think you might be needing a fresh experience of the real presence of God with you in your struggle- I felt at the end just like you are describing and stumbled across teaching by John Eldridge and his podcasts - Wild at Heart - it kickstarted my search for intimacy with God and the beginning of healing for my broken heart. Jesus’ mission is not only to forgive our sins but also to restore our hearts to union with Him-He is the source of our lives - hope it’s okay to recommend stuff on here - I was transformed me from one end of the week - ready to give up completely- to excited and motivated by our amazing living healer, creator, comforter and ever present lover of our heart and souls. I pray for you to find Him in this dark place.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Prayer Focus: God, Thank You. Thank You for loving me. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. Bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. Bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You.
