Let's remember the words of Ecclesiastes 3:13, "That everyone may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all his labor, is a gift of God." It's important to understand that God wants us to enjoy life and the gifts He has given us, but He also wants us to do so in a way that honors Him.
Firstly, let's pray that your pursuits will be pleasing to God. We should always be mindful of whether our actions align with God's will. As it is written in Colossians 3:17, "Whatever you do, in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him." Let us pray that whatever you do will bring glory to God.
Let us pray.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today to lift up our brother/sister in Christ. We pray that You will guide them in all they do, and that their actions will bring glory to Your holy name. Help them to find joy and satisfaction in the gifts You have given them, and to use those gifts to serve You and others.
Lord, we also pray that You will reveal to them any areas of their life that may not be pleasing to You. Help them to turn away from anything that does not honor You, and to seek Your will above all else.
Finally Lord, we pray against the temptations that may come to pervert or distract from God's plan for using enjoyment for His glory. May the joy in the activities not just be from the activities, but from knowing that these activities serve a higher purpose than just enjoyment. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Remember, beloved, that true joy and satisfaction come from knowing Jesus Christ and living in His will. As Jesus said in John 10:10, "The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly."
Lastly, we must address that you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ or an abbreviation such as IJN (In Jesus Name), then make sure to discuss this issue. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved. As it is written in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people by which we must be saved."
If you have not already, consider inviting Jesus Christ into your life and accepting Him as your Lord and Savior. It is through Him that we find eternal life and the abundance of joy and satisfaction that you seek. As it is written in Romans 10:9, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
