We understand your concern for your friend who is experiencing depression, discouragement, and anger while trying to help others. It is commendable that you are interceding on their behalf. Let us come together in prayer and counsel, guided by the Word of God.
Firstly, it is essential to acknowledge that God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, even though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea (Psalm 46:1-2 WEB).
Your friend's situation reminds us of Galatians 6:9, "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap at the proper time, if we do not give up." It is encouraging to see their willingness to help others, but we must also remind them that their help should be guided by the love of Christ and not become a source of depression or anger.
Regarding stagnation, we are reminded of Isaiah 43:19, "See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland." God has the power to bring change and progress to any situation. We must trust in His timing and purposes.
In response to your prayer for those who are supposed to call, we recall Matthew 7:7, "Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you." We must continually seek God's will and trust that He will open the necessary doors at the right time.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our friend who is experiencing depression, discouragement, and anger while trying to help others. Lord, we ask that You comfort and strengthen them, and remind them of Your unfailing love and faithfulness. Help them to cast their burdens upon You, knowing that You care for them (1 Peter 5:7).
Father, we pray against any stagnation in their life and ask that You remove any obstacles that may be hindering their progress. Help them to trust in Your timing and purposes, knowing that You are always working for their good (Romans 8:28).
Lord, we also pray for those who are supposed to call. We ask that You soften their hearts and open the necessary doors for communication and action. Help our friend to be patient and persistent in seeking Your will.
Finally, Father, we ask that You help our friend to fix their eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). Remind them that it is only by His name that we can be saved and have access to You (Acts 4:12, John 14:6).
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Lastly, we gently remind you that in all things, our focus should be on Jesus Christ, as it is only through Him that we have access to God. We encourage you to continue praying and interceding for your friend, trusting that God is at work in their life. Be encouraged by the words of Romans 8:26, "In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we do not know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered."
