Let us first understand that becoming a better person is a desire that aligns with God's will for our lives. As the Bible says, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future. This is only available through Jesus Christ. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. God makes us better people through His Son Jesus Christ.
We are encouraged in Romans 12:2, Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God. This transformation comes from the renewing of our minds, which happens as we study and apply God's Word to our lives. Becoming a better person is a journey of faith and obedience to Christ our Lord.
Let us be sure that this desire is for God's glory and not just for personal gain or appearances. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, and whoever will lose his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man, if he gains the whole world, and forfeits his life? Or what will a man give in exchange for his life. We must surrender our lives to Jesus Christ and follow Him to have eternal life.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, asking that You help ### in their journey to become a better person. Help them to see that this is only done through a living, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ. Convict them of sin, draw them to Yourself, and grant them the gift of eternal life. Give them a hunger and thirst for Your Word, and a desire to live in obedience to Your will. Help them to truly put to death the old self, and put on the new self, created in Christ Jesus. Help them to walk in the Spirit and not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. Give them the strength and encouragement to be a light for You in this world. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage ### to read and meditate on the following verses:
Therefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature. Behold, all things have become new.
2 Peter 1:3-10 according as his divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and virtue, by which are given to us exceedingly great and precious promises; that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world through lust. Yes, and for this very cause adding on your part all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence; and in moral excellence, knowledge; and in knowledge, self-control; and in self-control patience; and in patience godliness; and in godliness brotherly affection; and in brotherly affection, divine love. For if these things are yours, and abound, they make you to be not idle nor unfruitful unto the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these things is blind, seeing only what is near, having forgotten the cleansing from his old sins. Therefore, brothers, be more diligent to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never stumble.
2 Corinthians 5:17, Galatians 5:22-24, Colossians 3:9-10
As we live a life surrendered to Christ our Lord, we will be transformed to be more like Him. This is only the biblical way to become a better person.
