We understand that you are seeking peace and strength to move forward from a relationship that did not materialize as you may have hoped. First, we want to remind you that God's ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9, WEB). He allows experiences like this for our growth and His glory.
In seeking peace and strength, we turn to Jesus Christ, who is our comfort and strength. In fact, if the request did not include Jesus, we would be concerned. Jesus said 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. (John 14:6, WEB). Jesus also said, 'Most certainly I tell you, unless you are born of water and spirit you cannot enter into the Kingdom of God.(John 3:5, WEB) Therefore, we believe that 'God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has the life; he who doesn’t have the Son of God doesn’t have the life. (1 John 5:11-12,WEB). In addition, we are told to 'confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in our heart that God raised him from the dead, and we will be saved. (Romans 10:9,WEB) In fact, there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12,WEB)
We also want to encourage you to trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6, WEB). God has a purpose and a plan for your life, and He will direct your paths as you trust in Him.
Regarding the relationship, we want to remind you that God's design for relationships is clear in the Bible. God created marriage to be a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman (Genesis 2:24, WEB). Any intimate relationship outside of this design is not God's will and ultimately will not bring the fulfillment that God intends for us. If the relationship you were in did not align with these biblical principles, we encourage you to repent and seek God's forgiveness. Remember, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9, WEB).
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our dear friend who is seeking peace and strength to move forward. We pray that You would comfort their heart and fill them with Your peace that passes all understanding (Philippians 4:7, WEB). Help them to trust in You and Your plan for their life.
If there has been any sin in this relationship, we pray for conviction and repentance. Cleanse them from all unrighteousness and help them to walk in Your ways. Guide them to a godly spouse if that is Your will for their life.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged, dear friend. God loves you and has a good plan for your life. Trust in Him and His timing. He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5, WEB).
