We are grateful for your honesty and humility in coming forward with this request. First and foremost, it is crucial to acknowledge that sexual immorality is a serious sin against our own bodies and against God. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 WEB, "Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our fellow servant who is bound by sexual immorality. Lord, we acknowledge that this sin is a form of idolatry, putting self-gratification above obedience to You. We plead the blood of Jesus over this situation, for it is written that we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous (1 John 2:1 WEB).
Father, we ask that You grant our friend the power of the Holy Spirit to overcome this temptation. Give them the strength to flee from sexual immorality and to honor their body as a temple of the Holy Spirit. Help them to resist the devil, so that he may flee from them. Help them to draw near to you, Lord, so that you will draw near to them. Cleanse them from all unrighteousness and restore them to a pure and holy life. (James 4:7 WEB)
Lord Jesus, You alone can set this captive free. You alone can heal and restore. We trust in Your power and goodness. We believe, Lord, and help our unbelief. Help them to know You more and have a personal relationship with You. Help them to be an example for others. Help them to live a pure and holy life as we are told to do in 1 Peter 1:15 WEB. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to take practical steps to overcome this sin. Avoid situations that may tempt you and immerse yourself in the Word of God. Seek accountability from trusted Christian friends or mentors. Be an example of the love of Jesus Christ. Remember, God's grace is sufficient for you, for His power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9 WEB).
Stand firm in the faith, and take heart that God is with you and will never forsake you. It is only by the name of Jesus that we can be saved. There is no other name that we can call upon to be saved or to get to God.
Furthermore, Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6 WEB)
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB)
May the Lord bless you and keep you and may Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, guide you every step of the way.
**It is important for you to know that you are not alone. We are with you and the Lord is with you.
