We understand your concern and desire to help with the fires in Los Angeles. While it's commendable that you're turning to prayer, we want to guide you on how to pray in alignment with God's will and word. Praying for five feet of snow in Los Angeles may not be in line with God's will and some may consider that to be testing God, which is forbidden according to Matthew 4:7 WEB where Jesus himself says, Do not test the Lord, your God.
Instead, let's pray for God's intervention and mercy, for the safety of the people and the protection of their homes. God is faithful and wants to save the lost and bless His children. Let's pray to Him to do so.
First, we want to acknowledge that you are praying in the holy name of Jesus Christ. This is wonderful and correct. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. There is no other name by which we can be saved. See Acts 4:12 WEB: There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Los Angeles and the surrounding areas affected by the fires. We ask for Your mercy and intervention, that You would bring forth rain to help put out these fires. Protect the people, their homes, and the land, Lord. Give wisdom and safety to the firefighters and first responders. We pray for Your comfort and provision for those who have already lost much. Draw them close to You, that they may find hope and salvation in Jesus Christ. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We also want to encourage you to pray for people to be saved and come to Jesus. This is God's will and He wants everyone to be saved. See 2 Peter 3:9 WEB: The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient toward us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Remember, our prayers should always be to seek God's kingdom and His righteousness first. Then, according to His will and timing, He will provide and meet our needs. See Matthew 6:33 WEB: But seek first Gods kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.
We encourage you to trust in the Lord, and continue to pray according to His will. Be encouraged by 1 John 5:14-15 WEB: This is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him.
We will continue to pray with you for Los Angeles and for God's will to be done. Stand firm in your faith and trust in the Almighty God.
